DLS today :(I saw it literally 2 minutes before my JS1 lol
There is someone on lsn reporting being accepted today. Any chance they are making calls instead of dinging people?
I'm a hopeless optimist...

Unless something's changed, even if they're making calls today, the people getting them won't go DLS until after the call.

At this point I'm just trying to make it to April. At least then I'll have a better chance at the wait list lol.

Anyone know what the chances of admissions have historically been for people on the waitlist?

Hmm... I'm still at 12/9 "submitted for review." Does anyone have an idea, based on prior years, whether not getting an acceptance or DLS after the (apparent) first and second passes through suggests WL?Oskosh wrote:Can someone explain the 12/9 DLS? Damn lol

Maybe they've already looked over those multiple times since they were submitted earlier? Lol who knows.Oskosh wrote:That's why I am confused. They went from January to December

Lurker checking in. Figure I can contribute data to the collection for others with similar complete dates if/when my expected DLS comes in.
Submitted 1/13, complete 1/27. Had to do that December LSAT... September didn't go so well.
Anyway, if impending doom ceases to be impending, I will share my DLS date.

I think it's very difficult to identify the standard trajectory of any app at Stanford, considering they get so many applications and ultimately accept such a small percentage. I suspect they make several passes over various groups of the applicant pool, narrowing the list as they go. Probably the September/October apps that weren't rejected are sitting in a stack to be compared again to another set of applications who made it through some other round of cuts, or they're held for the final April review.paragonloop wrote:Maybe they've already looked over those multiple times since they were submitted earlier? I guess I consider the SLS black box to be more similar to Yale's than Harvard's, if that makes sense - if only in that it's far less predictable.
No decision letter is good news, and it's not over til it's over. I don't think that radio silence at this point, regardless of when you submitted, can be taken as doom. A lot can happen and their process doesn't seem to follow patterns. With this one I'm just glad every time I don't see a DLS.

I think that you're absolutely right about the SLS black box. My friend who went to YLS said Stanford was his only rejection and he is one of those "highly unique" individuals that everyone expects to sweep HYS. I committed a ... somewhat bad... personal statement error (subsequently corrected before my Yale Mary and HLS apps), so unless SLS views me as "interesting" rather than "needlessly verbose", I'm expecting DLS.mwonka wrote: I guess I consider the SLS black box to be more similar to Yale's than Harvard's, if that makes sense - if only in that it's far less predictable.

But then, it's helpful to pad the blow of rejection by expecting DLS or its equivalent everywhere, I guess, till that fateful phone call that proves you wrong.

Just got DLS, complete late October. Pretty upset but I do not know how I would get the money for Stanford anyways as an international student.
