1. I am certain that you will all experience tremendous luck with regard to Davis admissions. They are being ungodly slow due to some idiocy with their computer systems; no need to lose hope yet!

2. Regarding gloating, there is no need. Over the past 10 years, UCD has averaged a ranking of 35.something and Hastings has averaged a ranking of 38.something. Moving up 9 spots is great, because it puts to bet any rumblings about Davis becoming a T2 school (it won't), but the fact remains that for all intents and purposes Davis and Hastings are peer schools and the USNews rankings difference between them is not significant. NLJ250 placement percentages, clerkships, academia opportunities, etc. remain nearly identical between the two schools.

3. That said, Davis > Hastings

Do we have to apply/fill out a form for grants or does Davis notify us if we receive any? Thanks.

2) What's an average grant award at Davis? I got in already and got my package, but I'm just wondering how it compares to most people's.

How do you ask this without throwing down your grant info? Don't you have to give to get?

Your grant is considerably higher than most. I think the average is around 7 or 8 k per year

By filling out your need access you applied. When you go to accept your loans you accept your grants as well.

Because Davis has taken so long to get back to people this year, many of them likely put down deposits elsewhere and are reluctant to call that wasted money. Due to this, I expect that they will not have a high yield, and that those of you on the waitlist have much cause for optimism.

Davis ALWAYS waits too long to get back to people. Look at this same thread from last year. It was the exact same issue and there were all sorts of rumors going around as to what was taking so long. I think part of it is that they have so few seats that they can't extend too many offers, so they wait until the last minute to accept applicants when it looks like the others are not going to accept. Seems like lots of people got their acceptance packages either right before deposits were due or even after.

Can't find the Davis thread for the 2010 cycle and I JUST went from "Awaiting Evaluation" to "under review"...anyone know where the thread is?? Do we need to start one??
