Wow that is far, I thought I had a long trip from Northeast PA haha. Since you're traveling so far, are you pretty sure you want to end up at W&M?honeynutt wrote:I'm going! My exact thoughts/feelings. If every other school can manage to render a decision in a reasonable amount of time, why can't W&M do the same? It's not like they're a tippity top tier school and can coast on that alone. Get over yourselves and give us a decision, pleeeeeeeeeease! If I sound bitter it's because I AM.kellyxo wrote:I JUST WANT TO HEAR BACK!!!!!!

It's like they don't understand that we out-of-state people need to look for housing, etc.... I need to know if I would be moving to Virginia! Lots of things... and I'm just really impatient. grr.... so annoying.

It is a bit ridiculous at this point. Granted they say from the get-go that you will hear by April 1. That being said, I think they ought to put more resources into admission if they want to impress prospective students. W&M was a good choice for me but now I've been woo'd by other schools and I don't feel too confident about a school that takes 5 months to get an admission decision out the door. It is mildly retarded to judge a school based on its admissions staff. You will have 0 contact with the admissions staff after enrollment.hadisious wrote:It is a bit ridiculous at this point. thoughts on this? I'm not especially impressed, although the 20% doing clerkships is pretty cool.

I'm not judging it based on the admissions staff. But if multiple peer schools are keeping in touch and working hard to get my attendance, why wouldn't I be put-off on some level by W&M?tennisking88 wrote:It is mildly retarded to judge a school based on its admissions staff. Because you should judge schools based on things other than how impatient the admissions staff makes you. Like the employment stats above.hadisious wrote: I'm not judging it based on the admissions staff. Blahhhhh who cares! If people want to judge a school for its admissions staff, colors, facilities, motto, whatever, what difference does it make for anyone else?tennisking88 wrote:Because you should judge schools based on things other than how impatient the admissions staff makes you. Remember the part about PEER schools who have been doing a great job of keeping in touch. Similar employment figures, rankings, etc...tennisking88 wrote:Because you should judge schools based on things other than how impatient the admissions staff makes you. W&M admissions has to do something to make themselves noteworthy. That is their job. As far as I'm concerned they are in competition for me, not the other way around.

If you look through last year's thread this is just what W&M does. They accept people on a rolling basis and then WL just about everyone else mid-March. Last year it was the 15th so it will probably be any day now.

Yeah, that seems like a decent number of unemployed people. Need to see more 2011 numbers from other schools though to find out if its W&M or just the economy.B986 wrote:Um... yikes?hokielaw12 wrote:2011 W&M JD Employment Profile

Re: William and Mary c/o 2015 (2011-2012 Cycle)
This is actually one of the reason I like W&M over the peer schools I got accepted to. In my case, since my acceptance to W&M (which was the first one I received), I've gotten at least one e-mail or letter from them pretty much every week explaining some program/employment stats/congratulations/etc. We all want to feel wanted.hadisious wrote:Remember the part about PEER schools who have been doing a great job of keeping in touch.
