UGH! I just got priority reserve waitlisted via email. I've been UR since 12/19. What does priority reserve even mean?!

I have a couple of theories

1. PT is treated as a separate group (like in state vs OOS) and you are in a designated PT WL group
2. Of all those who are WLed, you are towards the top of the list

Yeah.... But GT played this game last year... It turned out the different groups really didn't mean anything... Just pissed everyone off all fergin summer long.

I didn't apply PT. I never got a waiver, let alone a PT waiver, which is really weird because a handful of people with my numbers did.

i'm not really sure what the method to to the PT madness was. i wasn't offered it, even though others with my numbers were. i DID submit my app about four days after i got my lsat score, so maybe i didn't wait long enough, but yeah . . . duke's system has me stumped.

as for priority reserve, it sounds like the gold-embossed waitlist, as opposed to the one in comic sans font.

According to last cycle's Duke applicants (--LinkRemoved--), there's a really high chance of getting off the PR waitlist if I write a Why Duke in my LOCI. It seems like they just want to make sure you're genuinely interested. I'm planning to email a copy as an attachment and sent a physical copy by the end of the week.

I think Duke may be trying to get an instead of how many PT people are going to matriculate or withdraw before they do RD

I wasn't a PT applicant, and Duke gave me an answer really quick and put me on the PR. I think this means either I didn't show enough interest, which is true, or I have an issue with my application, which I hope isn't the case.

I've been UR since 10/31. I wrote what I think is a strong 'Why Duke' (since I have clear reasons for preferring Duke), and have been accepted to almost all of Duke's peer schools.

I'm also of the opinion that they must be waiting for something - PT withdrawls, January application numbers, or something similar. We know they can make a lot of decisions quickly, but they seem to be making decisons very slowly now PT applications have dried up.

Received an email inviting me to apply PT at the beginning of the week. I submitted my LSAC app and on the very same day went both complete and then under review. Now for the ten day wait. Are these ten business days and do they usually tell you up front what scholarship one receives if any?
