The more I think about it the more I'm confused. I know Law School Predictor tends to be optimistic but how did I go from auto-admit on that website to auto-reject...Fairly certainly my recs are at least average and my PS wasn't terrible either. I just don't get it.

LSP is fairly worthless. Your numbers are great man, don't take it personally. Berkeley is just really abnormal and truly holistic in their admissions, literally UNPREDICTABLE, there is literally no auto-admit or auto-reject no matter how good (or bad) your numbers are We can see that by the quality of students getting dinged today.username08 wrote:The more I think about it the more I'm confused. Thanks. I was wondering why I randomly felt the urge to stop by at the liquor store earlier today though, lol.msblaw89 wrote:Seriously, look at LSN from last cycle... Berkeley is like the red seasmokeylarue wrote:

I have been under review since late October, and I have not heard a peep from Berkeley. I do not know if this is a good thing. They must really love and hate my application at the same time.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry either, it's that whole black box thing. You're going to get into a really great school.username08 wrote:Thanks. Whatever their reasons for not choosing you, I also think we should just brush our shoulders off and move on.username08 wrote:Thanks. As much as I liked Berkeley when I visited I did not love the 55k tuition + 20k expenses. I also was strangely cold in early September (being from Chicago, this alarmed me).
I'm sure we can find a better deal anyway

I think the LSN graph this year is fairly consistent. 3.65 and above gpas with a few URMs/177+ lsats below that. Darn over-achieving Asians preventing me from URM status

I feel like it will become less predictable, though, when more decisions roll out-as everyone has stated.
...And I did my drinking early-did so yesterday, but will still partake today anyway. Whiskey is good for curing my sniffles (sad and sickly ones alike).
Cheers to all the red dots in LSN! I'll be drinking to our luck with our other applications.

One thing I have to say lol. Why does everyone always think they have a good essay? Just logically it can't be that everyone has an above average essay. Every site whether it's LSN or here or admissiondean or w/e, everyone always puts above average for their personal statement. I just think people should really be more honest with themselves about their work and be realistic and then work to strengthen those weaknesses.

I think the TLS group is kind of the outliers... So I think we all probably wrote stellar essays and did not just restate out resumes... which I am sure the majority dolats19nys wrote:I'm not picking you out since we really don't know what led to your ding but....username08 wrote:The more I think about it the more I'm confused.
