Someone I know called the admissions office and they indicated that they are looking at RDers and may be taking more EDers next week (speculative)anewaphorist wrote:^I agree inasmuch as I think there will be more ED admits in the coming days.

I'm not sure if that makes sense given who was admitted. If they wanted further review ED applicants in light of what the RD pool looksl like it would've made sense to admit people with the highest indexes and then judge the borderline aps later. We don't really see that. Either more ED admits are coming next week (which I think is most likely, but can't figure out why there's a gap in admissions), they picked random names out of a hat, or admissions went beyond numbers.
Upon further thought, I agree with everything you say here.

IMO, it meant that they may not be following tradition of week one admits and week two denials and waitlists

If they know who you are, they know all of tls will collectively cut a bitch if you don't get in. I am RD and am also hoping that it is good news but it probably doesn't mean anything. Its strange that they have updated on a Christmas sunday though.

Re: Chicago c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
There weren't that many of us applying ED, and there are 7 acceptances on LSN for this cycle vs. 6 for the last - not that this is representative of the entire ED applicant pool, of course, but maybe of the people on TLS?msblaw89 wrote:Could just be me, but it seemed like there wasn't very many ED acceptances
I'm still on 12/14 as well. And all the rejections/WLs seem to come the last possible day they have to give us a decision. Yayyy.
