No, I never received the email. In fact, I haven't heard anything from them since they sent me an Application Complete email in like January.

Re: Emory 2011
I just called admissions (the contact us number on the website) bc I realized I didn't have an application complete email (complete 1/7). The lady was really nice and verified my information before letting me know that my application went into committee this week, but they have not made a decision as of yet.
edit: nor did I receive the review in progress email...

Re: Emory 2011
a couple things in re: the frustrations on the earlier page.
1. when i was applying, i phoned the admissions office once or twice (404 727 6802) and didn't have too much trouble reaching people. but right now is crunch time, so it's understandable that they're going to be busy. i dropped in at school today to print some stuff and walked by the admissions office. plenty of activity. i would say you'd be better served to email admission@law.emory.edu with questions (relevant ones, not "when are you going to let me know" emails. you already know the answer to that one probably). as many of you have astutely pointed out, email can be read and responded to much more quickly than other media.
2. i asked around, and the internationals i know here ALL received an email with their admission and acceptance packet in pdf form. i would be shocked if this procedure has changed. so if you're an international, you'll know if you've been accepted. emory trusts the united states postal service, but international mail, i'm guessing not so much.

Re: Emory 2011
In today via mail with 75k over three years with good academic standing (whatever that means). Really was starting to think Emory had forgotten about me, but I am really surprised and happy about this offer. Anyone else comparing Tulane and Emory? I know there is an old thread about that argument, but I probably will only be able to visit Tulane before making a final decision. Crunch time is tougher than restless applicant syndrome!
numbers are 166, 3.8 - I love how Emory seems to reward people just under the T14 cusp. Great admissions strategy!

So it looks like the 2nd batch of acceptances is now arriving? Congrats to those who are getting accepted... Please post if you received that e-mail 2 days ago about being in review, I'm curious if those were not sent to applicants with acceptances in the mail...

I got that email haven't heard anything else yet...I'm above the 166/3.0 wall and people with my stats have been getting accepted/getting money so we'll see what happens...sch0123 wrote:So it looks like the 2nd batch of acceptances is now arriving? Appreciate the info but I'm more interested in those who receive their acceptance today or tmw... I got the e-mail and the thought is that for those who didn't, the committee had already rendered a decision.njn3 wrote:I got that email haven't heard anything else yet...I'm above the 166/3.0 wall and people with my stats have been getting accepted/getting money so we'll see what happens...sch0123 wrote:So it looks like the 2nd batch of acceptances is now arriving? Re: Emory 2011
A friend of mine who was admitted during the first wave of admittances said that he got the e-mail verbatim shortly before he received his decision. I'm hoping that means that those of us in receipt of the e-mail should be hearing soon.

I'm hoping that's the case, I just don't want to get my hopes up for a decision this week if none of the people who are getting accepted in this 2nd batch got the e-mail.pballer wrote:A friend of mine who was admitted during the first wave of admittances said that he got the e-mail verbatim shortly before he received his decision. Sorry in advance bc I'm dominating this thread now, but are you saying you didn't get the e-mail the other day saying you were in review, or you didn't get an e-mail today along with your acceptance saying you are in? Also, if you could provide your numbers that would be great, PM if you don't wanna share on this thread, please.

Re: Emory 2011
Off topic, but for admitted students' day, what are people doing with the hotel options? I know there's 2 on campus for $79/99. Are most going with their families/significant others. I'm traveling alone, and trying to do it on low budget. I might come Thursday night to check out the city. I'm having a girl I met last weekend from the area pick me up from the airport, and drive me around Atlanta wherever I want so that expense is covered. But would anyone be up for possibly splitting a room in one of the hotels so it's half price?
If interested, please PM me and we'll do a pre-screener to make sure we're normal, and trust worthy. We can just split the cost with the hotel on our respective cards.
If this doesn't work out, I am afraid I'll have to stay in the 33/night 1-star motel with holes in the wall I found on priceline.

I got in today via mail. No email received as of late. I did get an email right before initial acceptances went out in Feb saying to add their email to my contact list. But then they accept through snail mail. Strange, but that's Emory for you. Not complaining.

What day is Emory's seat deposit deadline? I know ASW in 4/9, is the deposit on 4/15 or 4/1?

Re: Emory 2011
Congrats to everyone admitted today. I did not get the "in review" email (but did get the others like the complete one). It seemed like this would mean a decision is coming soon, but I contacted the admissions office b/c I might have an address change soon and they said my application is still under review. Sorry if this isn't what everyone wanted to hear...I do hope we all know soon though!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
