I'm guessing no decisions until Tuesday because MLK day. Really hate weekends/holidays now...

My husband (an economist!) and I were just discussing this today, particularly now that formal Iranian sanctions are officially nixed. Iran plans to dump a bunch of oil in the market, lowering the price *even more* and potentially causing even more instability in the market. Won't affect my decision to go to law school either way, but I enjoy the subject of international econ!

Ah yes, I was thinking the same thing last night. Maybe I should have chosen grad school for econ over law school. At any rate, this year is a good time to take a long roadtrip!cdavis1024 wrote:wilfred wrote:Just trying to live up to my namesake. I just sent my updated transcript with my fall grades into LSAC, does this update the schools automatically or do I need to do anything else? Sorry if this has already been answered, but I can't find the info

I sent my schools an email alerting them to my updated transcript and also included another updated item. The response of my schools ranged from a kind "thank you for your update, we'll include it" to a borderline sassy "yes, LSAC alerted us". I think sending them an alert does no harm, especially if you have another update to send them. However, they should receive your transcript update alert regardless.Li'l Sebastian wrote:I too would like this information.lemondrop wrote:I just sent my updated transcript with my fall grades into LSAC, does this update the schools automatically or do I need to do anything else? That's pretty cool. Hopefully that'll push my application over the edge on the few schools I'm waiting to hear back from. I had a 4.0 over 18 hours last semester!tflan19 wrote:I sent my schools an email alerting them to my updated transcript and also included another updated item. I've received similarly sassy responses when I've tried to keep schools up-to-date, and the fine print on the LSAC site does mention keeping schools abreast of updated transcripts... but it seems strange that you wouldn't see a "report requested" notation for that school through LSAC.tflan19 wrote:I sent my schools an email alerting them to my updated transcript and also included another updated item. I'm in the same exact boat! I'm unsure of whether to send update notes to schools I've already been accepted at or just the ones that haven't made a decision on me - anyone have any helpful thoughts?Li'l Sebastian wrote:That's pretty cool. I sent to all of my schools! For the schools that I had already been accepted to I just asked that they consider my updated information in scholarship considerations. I landed a big scholarship from one such school soon thereafter so I think its a good strategy.lemondrop wrote:

Yeah, that sounds like a smart idea! Thanks for your two cents and congrats on Columbia!! (Saw it in the other thread!)tflan19 wrote:I sent to all of my schools! So I created a more professional looking facebook.
I haven't even come close to deciding which law school I'm going to attend.
Is it wrong to join multiples of the Facebook Law School Class of 2019 groups?

Folks have discussed this elsewhere, but I feel as tho I haven't gotten a straight answer. If the facebook group is "closed," none of my friends can see that I'm a member? True/false?salander wrote:Absolutely not.Li'l Sebastian wrote:So I created a more professional looking facebook.

I asked earlier and didn't receive an answer from this tread, but did receive an answer elsewhere. If the group is "closed," your friends CAN see that you're a member. The "closed" just means your friends can't join (without an invite). Only if it's a "secret" group will it not show up anywhere that people can see.meowmers wrote:Folks have discussed this elsewhere, but I feel as tho I haven't gotten a straight answer. but once you join it you can remove it from showing up on your news feed and maybe set your groups to private. even so, why are your friends on your fb enough to check out what groups you are a part of?WinterComing wrote:I asked earlier and didn't receive an answer from this tread, but did receive an answer elsewhere. Lymenheimer, you're always trolling me so hard on here. Not that it's any of your business, but I'm facebook friends with a bunch of co-workers, and I haven't yet shared that I'm planning to quit and go to law school in six months. Even the small risk that my boss would notice it in my list of groups on the side of my profile isn't worth taking.lymenheimer wrote:but once you join it you can remove it from showing up on your news feed and maybe set your groups to private. even so, why are your friends on your fb enough to check out what groups you are a part of?WinterComing wrote:I asked earlier and didn't receive an answer from this tread, but did receive an answer elsewhere. Wasn't actually directing that part to you since I remember you complaining about that issue previously...Dunno why you think you're so special, though that i'd be targeting you.WinterComing wrote: Lymenheimer, you're always trolling me so hard on here. I don't know who does or doesn't look at my facebook and I don't really care. lol at anybody who values their facebook that highly and jfc at all this complaining about who may or may not see what groups you join on social media. If you're that concerned about it then don't join.meowmers wrote: well if you act the same way on facebook as you do here i can understand why none of your facebook "friends" look at your profile.

But you're right, you treat everyone on here in the same unseemly, disagreeable way. I'm not special.
Good luck with your cycle.

Someone asked a question. You answered it. I also answered with an alternative solution, in addition to your response. Then posed a question to them. I'm not sure why you assumed it was intended with a negative tone at all. Maybe you should lighten up a bit.WinterComing wrote: Someone asked a question. I answered it.
