Anyone apply mid-October and have yet to hear back from any school? I'm a splitter so that may explain the silence, but I'm freaking out a bit nonetheless.

Depends where you applied (and your numbers). There are some schools that haven't touched my applications (after going complete), based on status checker updates. But some schools don't use status checker effectively. I'd be more worried if people with a similar application are hearing back, but based on your post history, I'd venture to guess that most people in those applicant pools are in the same boat as you.jaywhy wrote:Anyone apply mid-October and have yet to hear back from any school? This holiday season, I'm wishing for an end to lawl school solicitation e-mails that don't come with an Unsubscribe option.

Thanks Fips. I might dip my toe in the water.fips tedora wrote:I'm fairly certain that you can keep your recent activity private, and not display any groups you're a part of on your timeline.WinterComing wrote:I've been hesitant to join admitted-student Facebook groups, since I'm not ready to tell my employer that I'm quitting to go to law school and would hate to be outed prematurely because some co-worker saw on my page or in their timeline that I joined one of these groups. I know they're closed groups, but I think that means they're still visible (as opposed to secret groups that aren't).
Any advice from social media wizards? Anyone who's in one of these groups care to share whether you find it valuable?
I probably shouldn't email admissions and ask that they change the privacy settings...

Rather new to this forum but I used the search tool and don't think this has been asked, so here goes.
Just got an email this morning from my #1 choice saying my ED application is being put in RD pool. "Your "hold" status should not be viewed as a denial, a deferral, or an invitation to the wait-list." Very last line is "This message is for your information only and requires no response."
That being said, how should I interpret this if my scores were at/slightly below median? Worth sending an additional "Why ____" statement/LOCI or will this just annoy them? Thanks in advanced.

I see that means UT. I wouldn't be too concerned. I applied ED last cycle and was instantly rejected. So if they wanted to deny you, they would have done so. It is probably just that they don't like your numbers enough to give you the 10k stipend or in-state tuition+1k (depending upon residency). They don't give boost for ED applicants, so that is likely a factor. They may admit you, but you might not get a decent scholarship. I would not send any additional materials at this time. If you are out of state, you can send a "why texas". But being considered RD does not mean waitlist, it just means RD consideration, so don't take it as a negative.badpoeticjustice wrote:Rather new to this forum but I used the search tool and don't think this has been asked, so here goes.

Lol. As I was reading this, one magically populated in my inbox(from mercer). Felt exactly like the last few episodes of Southpark.EnderWiggin wrote:This holiday season, I'm wishing for an end to lawl school solicitation e-mails that don't come with an Unsubscribe option.

I actually really like mine. I just finished it the other day and was feeling great. Then I listened to Reginald Dwayne Betts, YLS 2L, on NPR and... 250 didn't look quite as good.

Got a call today that I was admitted to a strong regional law school that I never applied to. Kindof awkward conversation to say the least. Made me feel quite good though haha.

Let the tick up in high-scorers be damned, I think we will all have a good cycle. (As long as the December curve stay low like when the bass drops)

Has anyone else noticed that on LawSchoolNumbers, the default cycle setting is still set to 2014-2015? Tons of people on our 2015-16 cycle are entering their info and updating with current cycle decisions but are tagged with last year's cycle

They also drive me a little crazy because the scholarship input doesn't specify yearly or total, so people seemed to do a little of both and then you have to sit there going, "Well, $25k isn't easily divisible by 3, so that's probably the yearly amount, but…"EnderWiggin wrote:Has anyone else noticed that on LawSchoolNumbers, the default cycle setting is still set to 2014-2015? Spending my Sunday afternoon looking at pictures/watching video/generally fetishizing schools where I've copped an acceptance and it's building hype. I wish law school was starting in January

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
