IN at Vanderbilt today in New York via USPS at about 11am! Submitted December 24th. The package is huge and beautiful. It's clearly geared towards students from outside the area, much of the package is devoted to moving/getting settled/what to do around town. But there's also info about the faculty, clinics, and school.

Where'd all the Vandy undergrads go? I wanna hear from you!

Nashville's awesome. Rains all the time though. Weather's crazy here, it was 60 outside a week and a half ago... and mid twenties with about 6 inches of snow three days ago. That's a common occurrence, minus the snow.

Well I was more referring to the undercurrent of homophobia, but this information is useful as well!

I went to Vandy and I am currently on the waitlist....
I wouldn't really describe it as an undercurrent of homophobia... I heard of one incident in a southern frat when i was there. But honestly Nashville actually has a pretty big gay scene for the south. None of my gay friends felt uncomfortable to the best of my knowledge. I haven't heard the same as being true at duke though.

Well I'm not really the type to hang out in gay bars or male strip clubs anyway. But I suppose that's good to know.

Edit: It also helps to know that the administration at Vandy seems to have a basic understanding of these sorts of issues. At my undergrad they just kind of turn a blind eye and point to the pope.
