Sort of surprising with your numbers-
What was your complete date?
It looks like they're moving into December as of yesterday.

As for the decision being surprising, I think there are a few things that hurt me:
1. Only one faculty LOR. I've been out of school for 10 years and most of the profs who knew me well have retired or died.
2. Non-prestigious undergrad. Based on my own school's data, not a single graduate has been accepted by SLS over the last three years.
3. Two LSAT scores, with the first being 13 points lower than the second.
I don't think any one of those factors, in isolation, killed my chances. But the combination of the three was a lot to overcome.

Damnit Dignan, I was rooting for you. I really was.
Now you HAVE to apply to Yale. Do it.

Thanks, Crackberry. Although I will not be joining you all at SLS next year, I want to say how impressed I am by the qualities--both intellectual and personal--of those who have been admitted thus far. The Stanford admits are my favorite group of posters on TLS. I think you guys are going to have a great 1L class next year.crackberry wrote:Damnit Dignan, I was rooting for you. I really was.

And, yeah, I really do have to get my Yale app in. I'm finishing that 250 tonight, damn it!

Go for it!
I think you'd be a shoo in.

Stanford has to have the most discomforting process of all the T14's to which I applied. No status-checker, no updates, only the voluntary token animal sacrifices made after every day that passes without receiving snail mail.

[quote="DignanEdit: Speaking of rejections, this one is a little scary:
http://lawschoolnumbers.com/hydriotaphia
I realize that SLS rejects applicants with these kinds of numbers every year, but the fact that they rejected an ostensibly strong candidate in early February makes me think that they might be sending out rejections a little more quickly this cycle.[/quote]
That is perfectly fine for me and I think everyone else here. I think its better just to know either way than to be in a very long state of limbo.
Edit: For a pathetic then/than screwup. Hopefully stanford is not reading my posts on this thread. Ding!

the easiest decision i've received so far was the rejection from yale; i was disappointed, but i got over it, and now i don't agonize over it the way i do when thinking about which acceptance to....accept

Re: Stanford 2010!!!
hey everyone
sorry to bust in like this, can anyone bring me up to speed as to what's been happening? Have they already sent out lots of rejections? Do they proceed chronologically? what does it mean when your # should be a ding, you have an early complete date and you haven't heard yet? Maybe deliberating, or just torture, or they just don't proceed chronologically?
THanks

Both rejections and acceptances have been trickling in slowly. It's all kind of a mystery at this point. All we know is that acceptances get phone calls and rejections get a letter in the mail.

I've always been told that the best things come when you don't think about them. But every time I try putting Stanford out of my mind, my desire to hear from them seems to double. Waiting sucks.

Stanford and Yale are definitely the most annoying schools to wait on. I haven't heard a word from either (like most people). Don't expect to hear from YLS and don't care much either way, but SLS is killing me.

Re: Stanford 2010!!!
Received the "complete" email yesterday, after about two weeks since the application was received. Just wanted to let you guys know that they are still sending these out. Now I can finally breathe...and begin the wait...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
