CRS waivers are based off of a target numbers range/criteria that schools input and it automatically sends them out..... you get them before they even read your application, so it's not like they're going through individual LSAC accounts and cherry picking people they like or don't like and handing out waivers that way. So, I highly doubt that you're going to find any correlation here.
I have no idea how CRS waivers are processed. And not all CRS emails are equal. Some make reference to specific credentials and suggest strong liking while some are generically worded and are mere invitations to apply. But I doubt there isn't "any correlation".

I just told you how CRS waivers are processed. They input target numbers/criteria and it automatically sends them out. Schools are actually pretty transparent about this. Receiving a waiver simply means that your numbers could potentially be in the target range for that school, and some schools choose much broader ranges than others, so in many cases it can be a poor indication of the likelihood that you will be admitted. People's admissions decisions have a lot more to do with the applicant pool that varies year to year than whether or not you receive a waiver or not, so honestly checking the stats and feedback for people who have or haven't been admitted on lawschoolnumbers is way more beneficial than asking who received a waiver and who didn't.
You seem offended. But by what?

I'm not offended, I was just trying to help you understand how fee waivers work, not attacking you personally.
Noted. Thanks.

Cornell handed me my first not-acceptance! Waitlist (reserved?) with a fee waiver and above both 75th percentiles.

I had the interview last year after being reserved in January. Looks like the email went out a week earlier this year, and they've expanded to DC (versus just NYC). Take this for what it's worth, because it seems like they have a different admission philosophy this year.
On reserve, and submitted solicited Why Cornell. Dean Ingram asked if I would like to interview with her in Austin. Not sure if this is a group interview or not.

I am sorry to hear that.

Did you get the email about interview in NY and DC? and soliciting a "why cornell" essay?

It seems to me that Cornell is employing a strategy where they WL a much higher % of people than usual in order to gauge interest. Tbh, Why X essays don't take THAT much time. If you're seriously considering attending Cornell, I'd certainly write one
So i did a quick search on the thread from last year, and it looks like they did these "reserve" interviews last year as well and perhaps even the Dean of Admissions participated in person. If that's the case, I actually think that it shows a greater effort on Cornell's part to try and meet with appliants they aren't 100% sure about and also gauge interest, which I don't think is unfair at all... it actually makes the process a lot more personable than just a written application and online interview. A "Why Cornell" was required for the application anyway, I'm pretty sure.

I wish everyone the best of luck, but if you don't really want to go bad enough to write an extra essay, I'd be more than happy to take your spot lol
I want to go, and I'm going to suck it up and write the Why x essay. I just don't want to because I'm currently doing a million logic games a day. Kind of sucks I physically can't go to the interviews, though.

I've gotten scholarship money from higher ranked schools. Anyone know about whether cornell will match it if I come off of reserve?
I also was placed on reserve with otherwise solid numbers for Cornell, and I'm trying to decide how to proceed.

Does anyone know if students admitted from reserve ever get $$, or if they can reasonably negotiate for it on the basis of other offers? I may just be daydreaming, but, with such a narrow pool of admitted students (not all of whom will ultimately go to Cornell), surely Cornell will find itself fighting to attract some of the students it placed on reserve, as well?

I find this whole "bloodbath" narrative demoralizing, so here are some alternative facts for you.
