I could use a JS1 to make this inauguration day suck less.

I submitted in October - interviewed already now waiting on decision.
Online status checker still just says "Complete 10/18". Should it say something else? Or is this standard?

That's standard. It doesn't change at all after complete, kind of like Columbia's.jonsie wrote:I submitted in October - interviewed already now waiting on decision.

Am I right in panicking about the fact that it took over a month to go complete? I sat at "received" since mid December and *just* now got the email and status checker change to "complete". And does this mean I'll be waiting yet another month or more for a possible JS1?

People who have JS1ed - did anything change on your status checker once the interview was offered? I'm paranoid that I'll somehow miss the email (as if, I've been checking my email about 100 times a day since September, but you know), and it would be great if I could verify that they really do just want me to gtfo

I wouldn't panic. They likely received a huge influx of apps around that time (winter break). And there's really no way to know when you might receive a JS1bartlettadmin wrote:Am I right in panicking about the fact that it took over a month to go complete? No I don't think anything changes on your status checker if you receive a JS1gypsyroselily wrote:People who have JS1ed - did anything change on your status checker once the interview was offered? Any idea if the status checker will change to "Decision Letter Sent" if you're being rejected or WL (like Stanford) or to "Accepted" if you get accepted?
Also any guesses on when the next round of JS2 will go out?

My guess is Thursday-Friday. During the past few years the middle waves in Jan/Feb/Early March have almost always been two day Thursday-Friday waves. This week is also as far from wave 1 as wave 1 to wave 2 last year.Mackgal wrote:Any idea if the status checker will change to "Decision Letter Sent" if you're being rejected or WL (like Stanford) or to "Accepted" if you get accepted?

Status checker changes when you're admitted, but for me it didn't change until after they called anyway. Under the "Status Update" heading it's like "You have a status update from January 21" and a link that takes you to the welcome letter.Mackgal wrote:Any idea if the status checker will change to "Decision Letter Sent" if you're being rejected or WL (like Stanford) or to "Accepted" if you get accepted?

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
someone on this forum posted this link that shows acceptances by month of app sent.
http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/timeline/chart/
chances already look bleak for those applying now. it's useful data, but i think needs to be corrected for stronger pool/better numbers of those who apply early in the cycle.
anyone know of similar data that accounts for pool strength?
For Jan app:
Accepts: 42
WL: 42
Deny: 67
Accept %: 42/151 = 27.8%
For Dec app:
A 27
wl 12
deny 32
A %: 38.02%
that's a difference in chances going from 38% to 27%. i assume they'd be much worse after Jan 20.
