Now that everything is pretty much over, what are your thoughts on Stanford Law?

Umm, it's the best fucking school in the entire goddamned world. I will be there this fall and am personally just grateful that I get to post in the C/O 2019 thread, where we actually have a real OP in fliptrip. Eat caca and die, Dcc617. Your parents hate you.

It's chill bro, but I was already set on Harvard or Yale anyway. I got my shades on to block out all that shade from CA. Enjoy the earthquakes, hippies.

I personally can't stand Stanford, its administration, and especially its admissions office. I waited patiently for 4-7 months only to get waitlisted or rejected less than a week before May. Seriously, go home Stanford, you're drunk (unless you accept me off the waitlist, then I will love you)

Meh, I mean, this was a total long shot for me. I just wanted to see what would happen. This is what I thought would happen.

I'm totally indifferent to Stanford, because I am super happy with the option I am going with. Grow up, Dcc617. You're embarrassing yourself with this poll.

I will be Seymour Asses from Futurama, and Stanford is my Fry. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? I WILL FUCKING DIE ON THE WAITLIST!

I am a lurker. I may not have even applied anywhere this cycle. My motives for lurking this thread are entirely inscrutable and apparently I have nothing better to do with my life.

Dcc617, stop making every other poll option about yourself. While you are very handsome, your constant narcissism and self-indulgence has become off-putting.

DLS just now...pretty sure it changed since the late afternoon California time. Just FYI

Most of you have probably read this on the website, but I thought I would post it here. I reckon it's what's happening to us long-waiters.
Stanford Law uses a rolling admissions process, acting upon applications throughout the admissions season as they are completed. However, some applications are held until the committee has reviewed the entire applicant pool. This second review occurs in April, at which time the class will be filled. (A small number of applications will be held for possible use in filling vacancies that may occur during the summer.)

The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny or wait list) by April 30.

Does DLS mean reject or waitlist? Or could be an admissions offer?

Virtually never an admissions offer. Acceptances are by phone, and if they miss you, they either leave a VM or send an email. I think that DLS's are exclusively WL or Dings.

What does DLS stand for and does it show up under Decision Status?

Decision Letter Sent, DLS is just the generic term across the schools. Different schools have different versions of the status (I know that Northwestern has "Decision Letter Available within 24 hrs"), but it's usually pretty clear if they've made a change from Under Review.

It would either show up under "Current Status" or "Decision Status". Not sure which one Stanford uses for DLS.

Should the LOCI have a pretty hard cut-off at 1 page double-spaced? I'd like to integrate a Why Stanford into it as well as general app update since I didn't put anything Why Stanford in my PS. Having a difficult time accomplishing that without spilling over to 2 pages.

I think the Why Stanford is the most important part of the LOCI and app update-y stuff might even best be condensed or saved for a later LOCI if you get WL-ed (although I hope you are accepted outright!) Or just send a 2 page one, I doubt it's a big deal.

Try to make the Why Stanford relate to your general updates (or make your general updates relate to Why Stanford). That's how I kept mine short and targeted, and so far no DLS so I will take that to mean it wasn't awful.

Woah wait you're supposed to double-space LOCI... welp, that ship sailed a few weeks ago for me.

I also single-spaced. I am a person with a lot to say. My LOCI was also mostly a "Why Stanford?," because I hadn't included one in my original app either. As of this exact moment, I have not yet been DLSed (sent the letter two or three weeks ago.)

Stanford lemme in plz

Mine was also single spaced and sent about 3-4 weeks ago and no DLS yet so I didn't screw it up too badly at least

I think double-spacing a letter would be weird. I feel like single-spacing is a pretty standard letter-writing convention. It's different than an essay.

Still holding out on an LOCI.

I will go down with this ship.

But I am sick of checking my status checker.

Also I think I know what happened re: MailingGate/MailingGazi. I noticed my mailing section grew in size (like a few extra line breaks thrown in), though stayed empty. Maybe if I hadn't noticed it before, I would now.

Guys I highly doubt single or double spacing is gonna be the deciding factor here lol

You know you've hit a low when the Status Checker is your most visited site on multiple computers.

So extra spaces is good or bad? Now I'm questioning if I've always had that large, yet empty mailing group.
