I'm going to take it the other way. I'd go ahead and apply. If you have indicated on your application that you have taken another test, then they can hold your application over for review until the score comes out, or they can go ahead and accept you. If you aren't too worried about it, then do whichever you prefer, but if your gpa is fairly strong, I'd go ahead and apply. You got a PT invite so I don't think they would deny you outright, but they may waitlist you. It's all a guessing game as to how strong your app will be. PM me if you want and we can discuss a bit.urbanist11 wrote:I would personally just wait for Oct. If you score lower they will still use the higher (168) score. If you end up scoring higher, though, that will def. increase your chances. 168 isn't a bad place to be (esp with a good gpa), but if you can get above the median you'll be in even better shape.NotoriousRBGJr. wrote:Alright I need some advice.
I just took the Oct. LSAT and everything was going swimmingly until the logic games section where my feeble mind largely failed me. So, I don't anticipate getting a higher score than my June score of 168. I was going to wait to apply to Duke (PT) with my new Oct. score, however now that it likely won't be helpful should I just go ahead and apply? I could still wait for my Oct. score in case an act of God has occurred and I got better than a 168, but I also would rather apply with just a 168 than a 168 and a second lower score.
Try not to stress too much trying to predict your performance either. I thought I had bombed June LGs and ended up with -1.

Hi all,
Coming out of lurkdom--congrats to everyone accepted thus far! Notorious--I'm in nearly the same exact reverse splitter situation as you, and I'm applying PT this week. I think that's the way to go, honestly.
All--any insight into scholarships for reverse splitters at Duke? From what I can tell, their GPA is relatively low compared to the higher ranked schools, but based on LSN they still don't give much $ to reverse splitters. Any anecdotal evidence that says otherwise?

Yea. Otherwise you'd have to ask previous admits, who are likely not going to be in this thread.urbanist11 wrote:LSN is probably the best anecdotal evidence you're going to get. I think in general splitters don't typically get much $.vested wrote:Hi all,

I couldn't really find a clear answer in last year's thread, but does anyone have any idea how long it takes for NON-PT applicants to go from Under Review to a decision? I hope its not one of these "anytime between the end of the day and March" type situations

I got the "people who want to do PI" letter.basedvulpes wrote:Anyone else notice that their acceptance letter seemed tailored to them? I think they highlighted key points from my essays and then pasted in paragraphs about how Duke is strong in those areas. I like the personal touch.

I mean, in a way, they tailored their entire Spring 2015 magazine issue to me.

My experience last year is going to provide you news you don't want to hear...I applied non-PT in early September and had absolutely no movement at all until mid-February.WhiteHouse wrote:I couldn't really find a clear answer in last year's thread, but does anyone have any idea how long it takes for NON-PT applicants to go from Under Review to a decision? I'm still under review, but the "current status date" changed from 9/28 to 10/7. Does anyone know what's the implication (if any)?

I, and I think a lot of other folks, heard right on time on day 10, so hope you both get some great news tomorrow to start your weekends! FWIW I heard around 3pm eastern on my day.cc1012 wrote:Sounds like you have a decision coming up!zty wrote:I'm still under review, but the "current status date" changed from 9/28 to 10/7.
