Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Congrats new admits!
And thanks for the interview tips, people. I have mine in a week and a half, so I guess it's time to figure out how to say "I am super broke and so is everyone I know and love" in a way that will make them want to give me money.
Also for NeedAccess, you can just say you got the numbers from an estimated 1040, right? Haven't filed yet, so I just used numbers from last year to estimate and plan on updating it as soon as I can get the real form in.

Yeah i think everything is editable. You could also look at your last pay stub and see what your total earnings were for 2014.

I have a scholarship interview with Duke next week. What are these generally like?

To add on to this question: would the majority of applicants be well-advised to do the interview? It's optional on the scholarship form and nowhere is it specifically recommended. As someone who isn't super confident in his skype interview skills, I'd love to skip it. However, if a just ok interview is better than none at all (as far as $ is concerned), I'd better bite the bullet..DetroitRed wrote:I have a scholarship interview with Duke next week. ED II- UR 1 1/12. UR 2 1/24. Is it weird that UR 2 happened on a Saturday?

I don't think so. PT decisions have been made on Saturdays, so maybe they looked at your file when they were in the office.bob311 wrote:ED II- UR 1 1/12. UR 2 1/24. Is it weird that UR 2 happened on a Saturday?

Radio,
If you were an admissions counselor, what would you think of students who decline to interview?

I also applied ED II. I have the status "File under review" since 1/12/15. No under review I or II. Fingers crossed for this week!

It's only for PT applicants.ellewoods817 wrote:Is the 9-10 day UR-Decision timeline just for PT applicants, or for all applicants? I went UR on 1/5 and haven't had any updates since and am starting to get a bit worried, especially if the 10 day timeline has been fairly accurate for all applicants.

I had my scholarship interview and it was much like others have described. I was asked a few "Why Law" "Why Duke" questions and then got to hear more about how merit & need-based aid work. I was given time to explain any factors about my financial situation that I thought the scholarships committee should know.

UR today, went complete 1/5. Any indication on how long it usually takes until a decision is made?hearsay77 wrote:same but went complete 1/8nickhalden wrote:Under review today! Went complete 1/5.

Are you non-PT? I'm non-PT and I've been UR since 1/5, no change since then.keosu11 wrote:UR today, went complete 1/5. Any indication on how long it usually takes until a decision is made?hearsay77 wrote:same but went complete 1/8nickhalden wrote:Under review today! Went complete 1/5.

I am a PT admit and you can rest assured that no blizzard, weekend, or federal holiday will get in the way of the adcomm's keeping the 10-day promise - Duke seems to take immense pride in that promptness. However, you may need to wait until midnight tonight to get the decision; I heard back at 10pm EST on Day 10!NoBladesNoBows wrote:Has anyone that applied PT heard yet today? Non-PT went UCR today after 1/5 Complete. Is there a rough ETA for decisions?
