They will if they are not right now, because of waitlist movements at other schools.

Why is USC so notoriously slow? Even before I applied I had read older forums where applicants said they were getting initial decisions from USC well after deposits were due at other schools. I was complete 1/6 but am sitting at CR2 as of 3/3. Already got into UCLA but dinged by Berkeley, at this point I'm about to withdraw just to spite the adcomm (but would feel dumb doing that if they were going to ding me anyway). What's even the point of them taking this long compared to competing schools in California? Especially after their rank just dropped. I'm annoyed and need to push something over.

They might be slow this week since it's spring break. Maybe understaffed or something? No idea, seemed like a slower week than normal

That would make sense (about spring break).
It is very annoying though, you think you'd be an auto admit when you're at one median and above the other.

According to LST, WUSTL placed 5.3% of their 2012 grads into Cali. I think they'd up it, but not match it (depending on how extreme the difference is, of course).

Definitely worth a shot. FWIW, I was able to get a substantial bump by sharing a few offers from "peer" schools in wildly different regions, all of which are either tied with or ranked slightly higher than USC.

Curious, when you share offers with a school do you attach scans of the competing offers? I've heard competing advice on this. Seems tacky to me, but if it's the norm..

How long did it take you to hear back from USC financial aid?

I feel like it cuts out an email (and time) if they write back asking for validation of your offers. I also took iPad photos of my offers and cropped them to show only the letter, it looks a lot cleaner than a scan imo.

After a certain point, do you think it would be fair to send them an email asking about my application status? I've been on CR2 since 2/25 and have heard nothing since then.
Would be nice to know about admit/$ before I have to start putting down deposits at other schools...
