See, this is what I thought, which is why I was asking. I thought it odd that they would require you to place a deposit on a seat that isn't yours.runinthefront wrote: In addition, you don't need to place a seat deposit at a school where you haven't been admitted to (yet). If you're accepted off of a school's waitlist, they'll typically give you anywhere from seven days to a few weeks to accept their offer and place a seat deposit.

Yeah, I am going to be sending a LOCI this week. Probably sit in a class next week too. Thanks for the info! It's really heartbreaking to get WL'd, but I'm going to be doing everything I can to get in.runinthefront wrote:Write a "Why Texas?" if you haven't already. Yes, the dean solicits them from students to gauge the interest of applicants in the YP category, but you can also volunteer one to display your interest in attending UT. IN! Just got the call 11:09am Texas time! 171 lsat, 3.8 gpa. texas resident! sending positive vibes the rest of y'alls way!
Edit: FYI my status checker never changed. In fact, I got the call an hour ago and it still doesn't reflect the change- just says complete or whatever. So idk how reliable UT's checker is

It took mine about a week post-acceptance to update to "accepted" or "decision made." I don't actually remember, but it is worthless.texasgirl67 wrote:IN! Just got the call 11:09am Texas time! 171 lsat, 3.8 gpa. texas resident! sending positive vibes the rest of y'alls way!

I plan on attending the one on Friday, but I may not be able to take off. If not, I'm going down for the Texas spring game and plan on checking the campus out then.Tony Soprano wrote:Anybody going to either of the mini-visits?

My status checker shows for some reason that UT does not have an application on file for me. Anybody know anything about this?

I would definitely call them immediately! How do you have credentials to check if they did not receive an application in the first place?dibreezy wrote:My status checker shows for some reason that UT does not have an application on file for me. Anybody know anything about this?
The process goes: check in application-> check whether complete-> if so issue username and pw-> put in que for review......

From the adcom
"Hello,
Most decisions for Regular Decision applications are made no later than the end of April."

Re: Texas c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
You can get into the status checker before creds are issued. I did this. And I got the same screen. When I went complete on Monday (I think?) I got an email saying I was complete, go to status checker, etc., and my login was X, but they couldn't display my password because I had already registered one. So, if you haven't gone complete yet, don't worry. If you were complete and now it says this, you should call.the_dude83 wrote:I would definitely call them immediately! I do not remember the exact phrasing but I do recall the moment when I found the page and thought to myself, "okay they have it now and it will be reviewed soon."

Any idea when those who applied around the deadline might see a decision?

I actually really like San Antonio, but like Austin, I'm not hedging my bets for it.El Principe wrote:Off-topic, but LOL at the San Antonio vote... I guess somebody's gotta live there

Also on the topic of SA, I think it's a good place for pi work, especially for the military.
