I think we've pretty much established that being on TLS means there is something wrong with our insides.hobie2515 wrote:I'm beautiful on the inside...romanticegotist wrote:Well that's exciting, count me in! And now the Segway tour is avaliable to everyone per Facebook. I wonder if Dean Ingram got alot of complaints haharomanticegotist wrote:As a 166 that got in you don't see ME complaining...
ALSO, can I just point out that it is super lame that in-city admits can't take the ASD Segway tour?

Waitlisted as well. With my numbers, it's not a terrible sign.

Well just got home from my interview. Now the waiting resumes. The city and school were great, I just wish Austin wouldn't have sent me home with the flu

Oh wait, are you talking about the Austin-area admitted students reception or the special ASD for UT alumni? I was referring to the ASD. Either way I'd rather not puke on the dean lol.

Re: University of TEXAS c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
full-ride scholly over three years!!! just heard back yesterday morning while I was in Chicago interviewing for NU!!! i'm beyond happpy. I honestly can't believe that this happened. This whole thing's really only sinking in now. I honestly wasn't seriously considering UT, but now, this is definitely a pretty strong possibility. I'm held at NU, WL at Michigan, (no word from UCLA, USC.... fkers... and i went to UCLA for undergrad). I mean im still waiting on Penn, UVA, Columbia, Chicago, (and HS of course... ha...like i would want to go there.........)
But honestly, I fell in love with Chicago yesterday. It's the first time i've been there. Lived in LA all my life. I think i really need a change of environment to truly get a good LS experience. As of now, I'm leaning towards NU and UT at full-scholly as my first choice. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do, but public service is definitely is a strong possibility. I'm not sure where i want to practice, but CA is definitely a market I would want to return to at some point in time. I'm really interested in immigration law, immigration reform, international law, business law (kinda), and i guess environmental law. I'm definitely not writing biglaw off the cards. But i don't really see myself doing it, considering the types of lifestyles i've heard associates having. I don't think any amount of money would be able to justify that. But, a less stressful private sector firm would definitely be very intellectually stimulating for me.
Anyway, I digress.. I will read some of the older posts on Texas, as I haven't read in maybe half a week or so. What do you guys think? Should i be happy about this scholly? Should I even consider it seriously? I wouldn't mind working in Austin for a couple of years. I've never been there before, so I guess i'll have to visit soon.
numbers: 3.6/173 (4th retake), prior law school matriculation at Loyola Law (less than a semester), good softs with public interest emphasis, only 1 yr of we.

Seems like there is a lot you don't know about the practice of law and what that entails (all over the map with places you want to work, considering UT without Texas ties and wanting to work in CA, thinking its possible to get a job in Austin). This site is a great resource and I suggest poking around a bit to kind of get your bearings as to how this all works. I would take that scholarship if you had Texas ties and wanted to work in Texas. Any other situation I would probably think strongly about other options. If you want CA and don't get S or B maybe you can leverage the UT offer to get a full ride out of UCLA?raynmaker1005 wrote:full-ride scholly over three years!!! just heard back yesterday morning while I was in Chicago interviewing for NU!!! i'm beyond happpy.
