+1. Do we need to submit some form to stay on the wait list, or do they keep us there unless we withdraw the application?
i don't think we need to submit anything to stay on thz WL, it would have been mentionned in the email. For instance I was also WL at UCLA and it was clearly mentionned we had to fill a form.
Makes sense. Thanks!

Maybe 10 admits on LSN so far this week. For some reason, I was expecting a lot more.

I might look at JD/PhD in public health in the future. I have my masters and am exploring health-related areas. And thank you so much! Now I can bring my bassets and not worry about being in a tiny apt :P

Thanks dude! Your posts in my chances thread pushed me over the edge. Here's how I justified it.

Awesome! I'm really excited now. UVA seemed entirely unattainable a week ago, but here I am... 15 days!

Just got the waitlist email...any point in me staying on, or should I withdraw and leave a spot open for someone else? I have no interest in going to UVA and only applied for scholarship money (which is looking pretty unlikely now haha)

I'd say withdraw sooner rather than later.

Sounds like you shouldn't stay on the waitlist

I would stay on because UVA utilizes its WL heavily and there's a chance you can get off of it and use any money they throw your way as leverage.

I received an acceptance call from Dean Richard earlier w/ a scholarship! I was kind of caught off guard, had been sleeping and recovering from surgery yesterday. She was very sweet and seemed thoroughly concerned that she had disturbed me. Very pleasant woman, and wonderful news.

Even though I think (and the email says) they start accepting WLed people pretty late in the cycle, i.e. after most schools' deadlines for sending the first deposit, so I don't think negotiation would be an option.

You could always place multiple seat deposits. I'm pretty sure others have successfully negotiated higher scholarships even very late in the cycle (after the first seat deposits are due).

If UVA gives you an offer off the WL you can still go back to the school you deposited at and use it as leverage for more money. Lots of people did this last summer. Schools know that a deposit is just a deposit and it doesn't mean you're 100% committed.

I'm in! I'm in!

I was waitlisted in October with my first LSAT, so I retook in December. Just got in with $25k a year! Thank goodness they waitlisted me initially!

So I should expect the ED to go complete (and start the 15 day countdown) in, what, four or five days?
