I would email it to Espiritu, but address it to the admissions staff.john1990 wrote:Should i address my LOCI to Kathryn Espiritu?

Do you think that they would budge up to 35 if you already were offered 30k/year?Chucky21 wrote:I was lucky enough to get 30k/yr. I'm most likely w/drawing which may open up some more money for others and get someone off the waitlist. good luck everyone.JenDarby wrote:I'm not saying it's impossible, just that judging from the website and the people I know its not very common. I imagine some of those 30k/yr people may have negotiated up from 25k, since it seems 5k is usually the schools give in negotiating situations.Gotti wrote:JD - i've seen quite a few people on LSN from our app year and previous years get $30k/year. obv it's not that common but i've definitely seen it happen more than few times

I don't think they'd likely bump it up to 35 because they don't have a ton of money and they need many people with great numbers over a few people with really great numbers. 5k/yr is enough to sway some people to Fordham in and of itself. That being said, I highly recommend you try!

Possibly a dumb question... but why does Fordham not have a ton of money? It seems like many peer schools charge similar tuition and are much more generous with scholarship money. Not sure I would get any money at Fordham, but just curious about this.JenDarby wrote:I don't think they'd likely bump it up to 35 because they don't have a ton of money and they need many people with great numbers over a few people with really great numbers. 5k/yr is enough to sway some people to Fordham in and of itself. Thanks... Yeah.. I don't wanna sound too greedy, especially because I'm in a good situation where I would be able to commute from home, but the more money the better and I would rather graduate with less debt. I am not sure how I would negotiate that because my best offer other than that was 25k/year from GW

My impression has always been that they have NYC as the draw that peer schools lack. Don't want to pay full freight to attend our school? Fine, there are a line of others who do. They also have the 'we place more in biglaw by number than anyone else' thing. Of course percentage-wise, they place about the same.B986 wrote:Possibly a dumb question... but why does Fordham not have a ton of money? Admitted. I'd seen zero movement since the first time my app went complete. Crazy.

I'm sure someone has asked and this has been answered, but could someone save me time and just let me know if applications ever go "under review" or is it just "complete" with date updates until a decision is made?
thanks!
