Re: BU 2011 Applicants
darn, just got the form status update request reply...
Dear xtine,
Thank you for your interest in BU Law. Your application was completed on November 15, 2010 and is now ready for review. I hope that you have received our “Application Complete” email. If you have not received our email, please check your spam filters to make sure that you are set up to receive future emails from bulawadm@bu.edu.
The Admissions Committee is currently reviewing applications. While some applicants have already received decisions, for a variety of reasons other applicants will hear later in the season. Let us assure you that we always do our very best to provide decisions as early in the season as the process will allow.
I hope you can see that our application status checker is not an automated system. We prefer to give you the individual attention that you deserve. We appreciate your patience while we work to give you timely and thorough information.
If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at 617-353-3100 or bulawadm@bu.edu.
Sincerely,
BU School of Law Admissions
765 Commonwealth Avenue

They haven't even looked at your app yet - meaning they could LOVE IT and accept you soon after you go UR. No need to feel :-/ yet!xtine wrote:darn, just got the form status update request reply...

Theory: Maybe they look at applicants above their 75ths first and then move on to applicants that are around their medians. I know I'm right around the middle. I'm hoping that my softs push me in.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
I would TOTALLY learn to love them if I got accepted.
Also "complete and ready for review" doesn't mean you're not being reviewed already. I feel like after that status, the next one is "decision made." Or so it seems.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
I'm below their median lsat and above their median gpa and I was accepted during one of the January waves - applied 1/11, so I think there really isn't a method to their madness.IsleMet wrote:Theory: Maybe they look at applicants above their 75ths first and then move on to applicants that are around their medians. good luck to those still waiting!
does anyone have any idea the amount of the public interest scholarship? I'm leaning very strongly towards BU these days and that scholly could solidify my decision.

I didn't mean that the reply I got was bad, I just had a small hope in the back of my mind that something different would happen

haha. dont worry. I'll still love my hometown team but I love baseball so i try to make it a point to at least somewhat like the team located in the city I am living near to make the games a tad bit more enjoyable. It's nice to have some emotional investment in games. Good thing boston is in a different league.

How would they only look at people above the 75ths and then move to the medians if aren't able to calculate those numbers yet from the 2011 admitted class!?
My head hurts...

I am one of those people. Sent my app mid November and I'm above both 75th percentiles. Really getting frustrated with them!SilverE2 wrote:There are a LOT of people with higher numbers still at complete, and complete for a few months. I wonder wtf BU is doing with all of us...

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Okay, I'm done trying to find logic in their process lol. I submitted my application on October 30th and went complete on November 23rd, so I'm not sure what is taking so long! I'm assuming that this means they've decided that I'm neither an automatic yes nor an automatic no. I guess I'll have to continue to wait impatiently.
