Bless, once you get past the two paragraphs of random insults, the rest is the same view I have. Sorry if I didn't articulate clearly enough.

I agree with this, however, I'm looking at the data for myself. There is no significant difference. I guess, if you want an article III clerkship, UF would be the better choice if you want that 2.5% chance.Franco Columbu wrote:With all due respect, I don't think anyone here wants to re-open the UF, FSU, UM comparison debate. LOL, I'm just saying man... don't become one of these TLS cornballs that goes around shitting on everybody and everything.FeelTheHeat wrote:Bless, once you get past the two paragraphs of random insults, the rest is the same view I have. Sorry if I didn't articulate clearly enough.
I mean, if you want to do that, go right ahead. It doesn't bother me any. I'm not invested in this website enough to mind. I'm not happy about UM not giving me a scholarship either, but when I make a final decision to not attend (which will be when I know for SURE I'm getting $0), I will not be back in this thread. Don't be so salty.

I am 80% sure I will be at law day...
I live in Orlando so it's not that bad of a drive/trip for me.
My dad wants to go, so I'll probably go with him and maybe the gf...is it lame for a parent to go?
We can meet up I'll PM you guys and we can coordinate further...

Lol I don't think it's lame to bring a parent. I'm still debating whether or not to bring mine, though not because of lameness.
PM me and hopefully we'll all be coordinated to meet next Friday.

A lot of people bring parents to these things, despite it being something that really seems like a grownup thing, i.e. a professional school.ChiCubs14 wrote:I am 80% sure I will be at law day...

I'm 30, so bringing my mom would border on the absurd; still, part of me wishes I had someone along to ask ridiculous questions.

I'll be there with my mom and possibly my dad. It's only a 50 minute drive for me to get down there. When I traveled out of state, I went solo.

I'm bringing my mom for no reason other than the fact that she asked to come because she's dying to have an excuse to go down to Miami.

For those of you that are curious as to why Miami dropped in this years rankings, take a look at this article, it's got some valuable info.
http://abovethelaw.com/2011/03/start-yo ... -rankings/
Although I must warn you, the authors are not too optimistic in their discussion of UM or the entire ranking system. But I think most of you would like to hear UMiami's explanation for their drop. It's a bit more credible than what Emory had to say.

Good morning folks.
Read part two, which came out this morning. The explanation for Chicago-Kent's 19 point jump is hilarious.
(Not to suggest Kent is a bad school, the article's explanation is just classic.)

Re: U. Miami Applicants c/o 2014
I agree with Miami's statement that LL.M students shouldn't be counted as "unemployed" ... at the same time, though, I also I don't think they should be considered "employed" either. The fairest way to do it would be to just leave LL.M students off the statistics completely. I'm highly considering an LL.M degree after law school depending on debt situations (i.e, if I go to Miami, I probably won't be able to do it).. and if I end up doing that, I don't think it would be right to count me as unemployed since I'd still be a student...Franco Columbu wrote:For those of you that are curious as to why Miami dropped in this years rankings, take a look at this article, it's got some valuable info.

I just tried to register for the Law Day, but it says that they are longer accepting registrations...due to limited space...
Am I supposed to just show up then and tag along? or not show up at all?

Maybe try calling on Monday and asking what you should do. If you really want to go, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to.ChiCubs14 wrote:I just tried to register for the Law Day, but it says that they are longer accepting registrations...due to limited space...
