Re: FSU c/o2014 Applicants!
FSU is one of my top two choices and if admitted I will most likely end up there, but they are taking so damn long to let me know. If they don't let me know by april 10th I will have to send a deposit to my backup. I have already sent in 2 updates and a LOCI. Does anyone else know what else I can do to get a quicker answer?
I really can't afford to pay multiple deposits

Re: FSU c/o2014 Applicants!
The good news is most of us got accepted via phone call, so when they do let you know, it'll be right away...none of that "letter sent, allow 10 days to receive it" BS like some schools do. Assuming you can pay the deposit to your backup school online (i.e., right before it's due), I would just try to be really patient; hold out till April 8th or 9th before paying it. I really don't think there's anything you can do to speed up the process. :/Gatorbull84 wrote:FSU is one of my top two choices and if admitted I will most likely end up there, but they are taking so damn long to let me know. Re: FSU c/o2014 Applicants!
So last week someone posted about a friend who got "the call" with a 159/3.9 (if I remember correctly)...
I'm just hoping they're getting close to my application now...maybe this week is my week?
Would odds be high for them to extend acceptances even with ASD this Friday?

You will all likely see a massive roll out of decisions after the April 1 deadline for scholarship recipients. Just hang in there.

Re: FSU c/o2014 Applicants!
I was accepted in February and invited to go to Academic Scholars day, and went. I never got anything about a scholarship application for a while so I assumed it was out of the picture. Then, I got an email to fill out the application on March 15 and it was due the 21. Anyways, my seat deposit is due April 1 and I'm wondering if there's any chance of me getting money, even though my LSAT seems a little lower than most people that have received scholarships so far. I'm assuming if i don't see any money before my seat deposit, I definitely would not get any money after Ive paid it. Numbers are 160/3.96(4.0). Any thoughts?

Ironically, I just received an email marked at the Exact same time as my post saying I received a one year 7,500$ scholarship. Not too much but definitely a surprise to me.

To anyone who has received a scholarship offer, did you get a reminder email about an hour ago re: deadline?

Nope, nothing. But I've also sent in my seat deposit and forms, just not the scholarship because I'm trying to negotiate (with zero leverage lol)NCtoDC wrote:Nope, I didn't get an email.Bill Cosby wrote:To anyone who has received a scholarship offer, did you get a reminder email about an hour ago re: deadline?

Speaking of which, I still didn't hear back today. Who did you send your letter to? I sent mine to Jennifer Kessinger who said she would forward it to the scholarship committee. I wonder if she is going to be the one to report back to us about it...she is out of the office til ThursdayFeelTheHeat wrote:Nope, nothing. I should probably send an email tomorrow then. I'm trying to negotiate as well (with some leverage, PM if you want details). I'd recommend sending it directly to Nancy Benavides though.

I got that email about my scholarship. I want to negotiate though. Should I just call them since it's so late in the game?

I'm 164/3.65 OOS and also attended ASD. I submitted my scholarship information the night before. I received 25k. Hopefully this can serve as some guidance. I'm still working on negotiating...I need a little more before I could pull the trigger to leave TN for 30k more final debt.

So who is going to admitted students day on Friday? Does anyone know the dress code?

I used to lol in threads where people were asking about this, but now I'm worried about it myself. At the moment, I'm planning on wearing a polo shirt or dress shirt with shorts and deck shoes. I really don't want to look out of place. In the academic scholars day photos, people were dressed up quite a bit.Rob1230 wrote:So who is going to admitted students day on Friday? Ugh i'm jealous. I have 3.4/164 OOS, attended ASD and got nothing. (well a one time $2,000 need-based something) But pretty much nothing. Even after I sent them a negotiation email with my other scholarships. Very frustrating...I really wanted to go to FSU but really can't make up my mind because of the money.BigOrange23 wrote:I'm 164/3.65 OOS and also attended ASD. Re: FSU c/o2014 Applicants!
I actually got a phone call yesterday reminding me that the seat deposit was due April 1st... LOL
Anyway, I asked about putting down multiple deposits with a scholarship offer in hand at FSU, and she said it was fine. She also said that there is not a 2nd seat deposit after you pay the first one. Hope she's right!

Re: FSU c/o2014 Applicants!
Anyone finish residency? I got my packet Monday and am working on finishing everything before the April 15th deadline. Very glad I started early, as I am out of state and have to mail signatures, forms, copies, etc back and forth to parents [dependent status] and this could be very bad if procrastinate. So....if you haven't started and don't live in feasible driving distance, get to it! haha.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
