some may disagree, but I would recommend prioritizing other sessions over tours. It's not a big place so you can show yourself the library, classrooms and courtrooms pretty easily. For all I know the tour guides have serious insight but the other sessions sound more important. If any one needs advice on lodging, boozing or eating, let me know, I'm local. see you there

Are you a student at the law school or prospective? I did the tour during a time I didn't care too much about the other parts, and I like hearing what tour guides have to say My tour @ Illinois was extremely insightful!

My tourguides were helpful when I had an informal visit last year. I expect there will be lots of students milling around to ask questions.

Just went Under Initial Review by Committee 2/1/11...went complete around 1/25/11 (i forget the exact date)

hope to hear something soon! I also hope to get some money - I'm in state, but W&M just offered me $23k per year and a fellowship...which is great and brings the cost below what UF would cost...

If I remember correctly, I went from 1/25 (initial review) to file reviewed, no decision which I've been sitting at since 1/28.

I went complete 11/18, under review 11/23, decision pending 11/30, then accepted 1/25.

Me too. I have been at file reviewed, no decision reached since 1/28/11 - I wonder how long until we get a decision?? At least we will know before the end of April!

If its one thing i give credit to FSU for, its that when they accepted me, Dean of admissions told me right then and there over the phone how much they'd offer.

I had to fill out the form for FSU before I got my $$ and just faxed mine in for UF today. I also faxed them copies of my current scholarship offers (from peer schools). I hope I get somethinggggg!

Yea, they need to speed that process up...hopefully (if they accept me), the fact that I'm an undergrad here they can just pull up my files from the fin.aid office... But yea, you guys will love the bar scene in gville, I'm actually suffering from a slight hangover now lol

Unfortunately, having a "bar scene" is something I put in the Cons list for schools. And having been to gville to party a few times, the bars are pretty gross and SWARMING with undergraduates and underagers (albeit-cheap!). If I go to gainesville, I'll have to find me a little pub that no one goes to if I'm going to go out drinking

Well I made a thread in the "choosing a law school" forum and they all pretty much made me realize that I would be incredibly dumb to pay out of state tuition at UF when I have $$ at Illinois. I'm actually just going to hold out for my #1 choices (SMU and UT) to see if they come through by March before I visit out of state schools, but if I don't get in, then I'll be visiting Illinois at the April 1st ASD. If I hate Illinois, then I'll head over to UF for the April 15th ASD.
