UR updated to 1/11... Is this relevant for Chicago? Have people generally gotten acceptances after an update, or is it irrelevant?

some people got accepted after updates in the last batch. but mostly we have no idea.

Chicago is generally kind to high-LSAT splitters. It's also been hypothesized that they favor candidates who would be a good fit for Chicago's intellectual atmosphere.

It's a good thing I used such Brobdingnagian, well-excogitated wording in my PS!!

You know what I mean, though: Chicago has a reputation for having an intellectual climate that is more intense and geared for academia than those of its peers.

Take my application as an example. In my PS, I specifically wrote that I wanted to be an academic (Chicago prides itself on producing a lot of law teachers). At the local law school fair, I asked Dean Perry questions about going that route. And I got in, even with my bubble numbers. Also, if you look on LSN, a solid majority of the people who applied ED to Chicago were accepted (and the people who weren't were waitlisted and are still being looked at closely), including many people with lackluster numbers for Chicago. This isn't definitive evidence that the law school gives a boost to people who self-select there -- as its admissions materials hint -- but it's certainly consistent with the idea.

I wouldn't worry yet; so far, there's no perceptible pattern to the timing of updates.

Based on the stats of others who's checker changed - it's not looking bad.

Same change for me, not sure if it means anything at all. I have ~ median GPA, well-above 75th lsat.

my UR date also just changed to 1/12. Does this have any meaning / historical precedent? I really doubt I am going to be getting into chicago hahaahha.

I bet you have a decent shot at U-Chi, too. That GPA is nice and shiny and you obviously have a good app package, to get into three T-10 schools already.

yeah, this is why i think it is meaningless. probably just some administrative quirk.

I think it might mean decisions are coming out, but all three: In, WL, and dings.
