They already have, according to LSN. Really confused as to how the scholarship process at UVA actually works.evanrn wrote:Anyone know when they'll start giving out (non-Dillard) scholarship decisions?

Would either of you be willing to PM me your softs? Nothing too personal just trying to get a feel.split_777 wrote:Can confirm. Nearly identical stats.aboveandbeyond wrote:soft factors matter.
For anyone contemplating adding additional material to their application. Got in to Virginia Law with a 171 and a 2.7 so I definitely believe they strongly value Why essays and other supplemental pieces. Best of luck to everyone waiting!

Got the waitlist email today. Anyone know how many people normally get put on it/how many usually get in from it? If it was already stated here, sorry for the repeated question!

Same as above. Waitlisted today. UVA is my number one choice and I would do literally anything to be admitted. Of course I'm planning to send in an LOCI and visit, but any other advice on how to best situate myself to be one of the lucky waitlist admits?

Reapply in the fall. Ideally with an extra one or two LSAT points.ohladcsc wrote:Same as above. Waitlisted today. UVA is my number one choice and I would do literally anything to be admitted. Honestly, I think the number admitted from the wait-list is tiny, given some remain "under review" until such a late stage and are therefore still in the game so to speak.
(This advice holds unless you think you're truly competitive. Then, you already have the correct approach. Though, if you're competitive you might still be better making a better application in the fall when there's still money available.)

Waitlisted today, which honestly considering my other law school applications, I'm pretty happy with. I was resigning myself to retaking and applying again next year, unless Vanderbilt or Texas bite. So I'll just ride out the waitlist and see what happens.

Does UVA waitlisting occur prior to an interview?

I've been UR1 since 12/11 and I have very similar scores to those waitlisted yesterday (according to LSN), but haven't been waitlisted yet. Any idea what this means? I have no idea why they're holding my app and I'm incredibly impatient (just ask my spouse).albanach wrote:Reapply in the fall. You're still a step ahead of someone waitlisted. If you don't mind paying sticker (likely all that's left at this point) do anything you can to improve chances. Visit the school and meet an adcomm. Send Why UVA.hbaninny13 wrote:I've been UR1 since 12/11 and I have very similar scores to those waitlisted yesterday (according to LSN), but haven't been waitlisted yet. Any idea what this means? If not, retake the LSAT, reapply the day applications open and, if you can, get in-state.

Checking in! Any idea do I need to submit the Why UVA? Does the admission committee appreciate the effort? Thank you!

Read the thread. Also read threads from prior years.joewoo198256 wrote:Checking in! Any idea do I need to submit the Why UVA? Does the admission committee appreciate the effort? Thank you!
If you haven't been accepted to UVA at this point, it becomes increasingly challenging to get in. Also, UVA appears to like an expression of interest in why you want to attend their school and what you will bring to the incoming class.

Is there any chance of Dillards or other decent merit scholarships going out to people who haven't been admitted as of mid-late March? UVA has been my #1 choice since the very start and I'm above both 75ths, wrote a LOCI, and tailored my PS butI've yet to hear a word. I'm worried I may have to take a year off and reapply, anybody know from past years if it's too late?

I don't know about scholarships to those who have not been admitted yet. However, I got moved from a Deans to a Dillard post ASW - so things are definetely still in motion.
