A month since I finished my interview. Almost wish I could just get some closure, regardless of the decision. I feel like they forgot about me.

Based on last year's thread, I believe it's possible.

They're 120 miles apart - that's one heck of a daily commute.

I'm sad to say I haven't gotten the same impression from Georgetown, as my better half will need to be working in a major metro area and we'd rather not keep up the distance thing the Navy's forced on us from time to time. Charlottesville isn't really that far from DC I guess...
Yeah, definitely not too bad of a drive (depending on traffic ).
Hey laqueredup, I'm in a similar situation. My significant other is going to need a major metro area for work, so if I decide on UVA that'd mean the DC area. I've read elsewhere that the drive between Charlottesville and DC is awful, both in terms of distance and traffic most days. And if I read the website right, it looks like Amtrak only runs between the two a few times a week, which wouldn't work.

Can anyone else speak to whether or not Charlottesville-DC is really a manageable daily commute (also in terms of maintaining one's sanity)? I don't want to put my SO through hell for three years in terms of commuting, but UVA would be such an awesome place to attend, and neither of us is thrilled by the prospect of living halfway between the two in, say, Fredericksburg or tiny Culpeper, Virginny (nothing against either of those places -- it's just that I'm from the rural South and was hoping to experience law school elsewhere).
You don't want to do Charlottesville-DC daily; you would have a small advantage in that you would be going against traffic (depending on where you lived; Loudoun County, Manassas, or something like that would probably be your best bet), but it would still be a miserable daily with the demands of law school. Have you looked into Richmond? I'm not sure what your SO's employment prospects look like there, but it is a nice city with a lot of different government/business opportunities and a very doable drive to Charlottesville (probably 45 minutes from the west end with no traffic).

And not only is it 120 miles, it's 120 miles on I-95, which ranges from nightmarish to hellacious.

So what's the average amount of time to hear back after the interview? I had mine today and have seen stories of people getting admitted at the end, or called a couple of hours later with an admit. I've also heard stories about not hearing back a month after the interview. Is there an average or general consensus? I don't feel that I knocked my interview out of the park, and now I'm getting nervous..Any information to ease the edge of anxiety would be helpful..
