So did anyone actually send their LOCI directly to Dean Deal? Or is the general consensus just to send it to admissions?

I sent it to admissions and ccd Dean Deal, but I got a response from the admissions email saying that they had added it to my file, so probably just admissions is fine.tizzy2728 wrote:So did anyone actually send their LOCI directly to Dean Deal? I took an intro psych course with Dr. Zimbardo just before he retired. He had deep regrets over doing the prison experiment. He was very generous with his time and shook everyone's hand when we entered his class on the first day and last day. He also somehow convinced me to attend a cult meeting in San Jose as part of an experiential experiment. The short experiment required at least three of us and we were not allowed to use our real names if asked. It was one of the most bizarre and interesting classes I have ever taken.madoodle16 wrote:Actually laughed out loud at this. Yup, it should be updated and based on that you can call them and ask which it is.YCDAACH wrote:Does the online status checker say that a decision has been rendered?madoodle16 wrote:madoodle16 wrote:It's snail mail but you can actually call and they will let you know if you were rejected or waitlisted over the phone so you don't have to wait for the package.williamtell wrote:does DLS mean snail mail or does an email actually come in relatively short order?

so just to clarify, they have been doling out WLs already? just curious, as in '13-'14, all WL decisions came on the same dates (May 1-2, I believe)madoodle16 wrote:Yup, it should be updated and based on that you can call them and ask which it is.YCDAACH wrote:Does the online status checker say that a decision has been rendered?madoodle16 wrote:madoodle16 wrote:It's snail mail but you can actually call and they will let you know if you were rejected or waitlisted over the phone so you don't have to wait for the package.williamtell wrote:does DLS mean snail mail or does an email actually come in relatively short order?

OMG. Doesn't that mean one won't know his/her decision until May if that person gets wait listed? That's just cruel.

I don't know that there have been many WLs this year already, but last year they weren't all released in a single wave. There were sporadic waitlists throughout mid-late April based off of last years threadGMW77 wrote:OMG. Doesn't that mean one won't know his/her decision until May if that person gets wait listed? right, thats why i asked if there have been WLs yet this year, to determine whether this year looks more like last year (WLs throughout April) or like the year before (WLs all at one on May 1-2)
eta: sorry, on mobile and suck at quoting

Well I was planning on withdrawing this week anyway (paid my deposit at UVA), but got a DLS today. Maybe they knew????
For the record, complete 1/10/16. Median LSAT, >75% GPA, non-URM.

LOCI submitted! I realized that I should sent a resume update, since other schools previously asked me to do so after interviewing. I feel like now I've really done everything possible, so I think I can (in theory) rest easy for now. But probably not lol.
Thanks fliptrip/WinterComing/everyone else who weighed in on my previous question!

I had a random 'Mailings' section pop up in my Status Checker. Was it always there and I just noticed it? Or is it actually new? I'm still under review.

Same...I don't think it was there before either. I wonder if this means we're going to go DLS soon?itookthelsat wrote:I had a random 'Mailings' section pop up in my Status Checker. Was it always there and I just noticed it? Or is it actually new? I'm still under review.

I'm almost certain 'Mailings' has been there for me the entire time. Seem to remember wondering why its always been blank, whereas other schools have listed my 'Completed' email etc... but now I'm scared...crescentstars wrote:Same...I don't think it was there before either. Honestly, a 'new batch of Mailings boxes' wave would add a little spice to my day. Rooting for it.jlk411 wrote:I'm pretty sure it was always there....Topszn wrote:I'm almost certain 'Mailings' has been there for me the entire time. Just got a DLS too. Called the Admissions Office, confirmed a ding. Visited, sent LOCI, sent Stanford specific LOR. Did everything I could. LSAT 170, international GPA, US PhD. This is the law school closest to my home and my SO works at Stanford.

I think the only way to reconcile this is to ask an admit who still browses this thread if they see mailings in their status checker.AriGold33 wrote:Same here, had a new "mailings" section pop up. At this point I just feel honored not have a DLS yet. Still hoping my softs and different background are gonna pull me through the black box that is SLS admissions..
