Guys, I'm bummed about no decision today in part because I really want to jump into 0L networking with a T14/Ivy acceptance. Especially with the slow trickle of UR2s recently I don't foresee a Decision Day until late next week.

I have attorneys within my professional circle that I am planning on approaching for conversations (or lunches/coffee) to learn about the legal profession and their experiences and (ideally) to establish a contact for a 1L summer internship.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Wut

Agreed. And I would mention the fact that you visited - it's probably more than what a lot of people could say in their Why Penn's.NotASpecialSnowflake wrote:I would write it. Now, please use the extra time you have been given and give altf4's application a push towards the "admit" pile?? Pretty please?

One of my favorite quotes is by him actually:
"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn"' - if anyone needs a thought provoking quote for a Why Penn essay, here's a good one.

Rather than quote, I prefer to embody his spirit. Thus my mantra is taken from the Goldman Sachs Elevator Gossip Twitter: "When life serves you lemons, order the lobster." I hope he would approve.bodie9 wrote:Masonsmith wrote:Because Penn was founded by Benjamin Franklin and he was just legend - you wanted to live that lifenickhalden wrote:Because you wanted to spend time in the best applicants thread on TLS.radio1nowhere wrote:Applied yesterday on impulse. Re: University of Pennsylvania Law School C/O 2018 Applicants
Right, so, I've been mulling over this for awhile: I'm a total dingbat and for some stupid reason thought that Penn only accepted one optional essay. Don't ask why - I reread the instructions a few days ago and realized they're clear as day so that was just a major RC fail. D'oh.
Anyway, I've since written a "Why Penn?" that I, personally, think is quite good (take it with a grain of salt, etc). I've always been interested in Penn so it came really naturally and, frankly, it supports both my resume and personal statement. The thing is, I've read conflicting things about submitting late essays; some posters have said it looks disingenuous and, if that's the case, maybe it'd be better to just leave my app as-is?
What's the general consensus? I'm already UR2 so I'd want to submit it ASAP to see if I have a chance of having it considered. Thanks in advance!
