I really wouldn't be so sure.

In my case, I am in at S but was JS0 at H.

curious - do the rest of you who were WL have H or S offers on the table?
I have H but not S. Stanford and I have quite a negative history: S also rejected me from their Ph.D. program. They are dead to me.

It is a curious feeling to be heading to H from Y. Yalies are taught from day 1 that H is the enemy. I saw an undergrad today with a shirt that said "Huck Farvard." But it'll be fun to be on the winning side of the H-Y football game for once

Really, for everyone who has made it this far in the Yale admissions game, I think we deserve a serious, serious round of applause. Congratulations to all. We fought a good fight.

I'm planning on heading out to Cambridge (but still gonna ride out the WL). Good luck!

Waitlisted as well. Better than a straight up rejection but was still hoping for a seriously late acceptance. I'm gonna ride it out, for sure.

Complete 12/20.

What is the etiquette for accepting the WL? Should I respond with a LOCI?

I have offers from H and S and will likely be choosing S.

Looks like a LOCI can be somewhat but not hugely helpful. If you think you'll have useful updates later, I wouldn't submit it right away, since you only have one shot at it.

didn't apply to S but was accepted at H. if Yale doesn't work out, I'll go with Columbia instead since I got $$$.

also, in terms of a LOCI, should I mention that I got a scholarship at Columbia? I know on Asha's blog she threw some shade at other schools that have to give out money to attract top students, but right now that's all the leverage I have. and without significant updates to my application, what would a LOCI do?

I just filled out the form and sent it back in an email. I mentioned in the email that Yale was still my top choice. so I'm not sure if I should or shouldn't send a LOCI. Thoughts?

Waitlisted checking in. Anyone know if there's any particular advantage or disadvantage as a URM on Yale's waitlist? Or is it all just a crapshoot like everything else?

Also, other waitlistees, are you submitting your waitlist confirmation form + LOCI, or does the LOCI come later? New to the whole LOCI thing so any advice would help.

I'm submitting mine separately. Not sure if that's "traditional" or not but I'm doing it that way so I'll send in my updated resume/additional LORs with my LOCI

Finally heard back just now. Six months after submitting my app, got rejected. Definitely not surprised, just annoyed it took so long.
