Definitely schedule a visit if you can! I couldn't make either ASW and instead went for an individual visit. Got to sit in on 2 separate 1L classes, had lunch with a 3L, and got a one-on-one tour of the school and campus. It was awesome. Plus the reimbursement offer was quite niceKMart wrote:I wish I could but I can't make it over Easter - I'm trying to schedule a visitYeezusPiece wrote:Who will be at the ASW next week?.

I enjoyed campus tours, tours of the law school itself in detail and the talks. But sitting in on a class I didn't see the benefit

.......12/10. Although some have it worse, and I agree 100%. They are already sending out wait lists, so either ding me or let me at least write a LOCI.cafecreme15 wrote:Jeez. To me, it seems pointless to set a window of time for a decision to be rendered and then not stick to it. 12-15 weeks should be ample time to make a decision.

Agreed, you don't have to keep me waiting 5 months to just ding me. If you are gonna wl me, surely you have decided in the past 5 months? Like seriously.sstradling wrote:.......12/10. Last Friday was the "12 weeks" time frame. Emailed them today and got the "it'll be a few more weeks" line. Glad I'm not the only one.

Same here...not like we're up against other deadlines or anything. Hopefully will hear from them soon!

I believe $750. Anyone know if they allow multiple deposits until the second deadline?Pelicanwaiting wrote:Does anyone know the amount of the deposit? Thanks.

I believe I read that LSAC doesn't send out the seat deposit reports until July 1st. So they wouldn't know until then anyway.

Generally, I think the best practice is to follow the rules that the school sets out. The fact that they might not find out you're double deposited against their wishes doesn't mean much when it comes to potential repercussions.lawdoggy wrote:I believe I read that LSAC doesn't send out the seat deposit reports until July 1st. Does anyone know what the mock class at ASW is like? Can I just glance at the materials? Or do I actually have to prepare. I'm seriously not interested in doing homework for a fake class.

They don't cold call you by name so if you don't want to read you don't have to.UOI4430 wrote:Does anyone know what the mock class at ASW is like? Can I just glance at the materials? Or do I actually have to prepare. I'm seriously not interested in doing homework for a fake class.

Yeah I was there for that too but I mean if you are really nervous you just don't have to raise your hand when they call your school hahasupersplittysplitter wrote:when i was there the professor called you based on where you went to undergrad... it was actually pretty nerve-wracking hahahairbear7 wrote:They don't cold call you by name so if you don't want to read you don't have to.UOI4430 wrote:Does anyone know what the mock class at ASW is like? Just withdrew, meaning there's some more scholarship money on the table now. Good luck! Vandy seems really great, just not my preferred location.

What are the odds we'll get a decision before the April 15th deposit deadline date set by most schools? (Next week will be my 12th week)

Honestly, I think it's a toss up and depends on the school, when you applied, etc., but even then, hard to say. I had called WUSTL because their first deposit deadline was yesterday and I hadn't even heard back accept/deny/wait list, but they said that the deposit deadlines don't necessarily dictate their review process.bodie9 wrote:What are the odds we'll get a decision before the April 15th deposit deadline date set by most schools? In any case, if the deposit deadline passes and I haven't heard, I'm assuming I've been denied.

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2018 applicants
So I decided to wait until Monday before reaching out to admissions in order to inquire about the status of my application (this is my 13th week of waiting), but I am going crazy over here! I feel like I can't make any type of definitive decision about where I want to attend without having all my cards on the table.

+1 on your last sentence. I was at the BC admitted students day and I was asking about putting down deposits without hearing back from all the schools and someone just goes "That's how the game works. Unfortunately you just get screwed". I wish I was rich enough to throw out $1000 without blinking at a school I might not even attend. I at least hope those abandoned seat deposits go into someones scholarship...

Are they all non refundable? And have you asked these other schools for a deposit extension?bodie9 wrote:cafecreme15 wrote:So I decided to wait until Monday before reaching out to admissions in order to inquire about the status of my application (this is my 13th week of waiting), but I am going crazy over here!
