Does anyone else feel a similar sense of foreboding re: the rest of your apps?

Yep, same here. I got in at Duke via PT but haven't heard anything from other schools yet.Sourrudedude wrote:I applied early October, got an early JS1, and haven't heard anything outside of Duke PT. See the decision timeline page of mylsn.info
Unless you apply ED to CCN, you will not expect a decision for YSCCN before December.
So don't panic.

Thanks all -- I appreciate it. Have some friends who have heard back from several already (besides Duke PT) with similar numbers and it was just freaking me out a little.

Any thoughts on the quality/quantity of this HLS applicant pool compared to past cycles? Looking at the spreadsheet, quality seems very high, but that could obvisouly be due to self-selection bias.

We're a self-selecting sample or a self-selecting sample. These threads have a lot of high numbers applicants every year.lawbeahs wrote:Any thoughts on the quality/quantity of this HLS applicant pool compared to past cycles? Unrelated: I got a JS1 with both GPA and LSAT at or below the 25th percentiles. For those of you out there with less impressive numbers but strong softs, it seems like it's still possible to have a horse in this race.

Posting #1000 here to show how much a JS1 will mean to me.
My first post was in the "What are my chances?" subforum where I asked where I can get in with my 169. I was promptly welcomed to TLS by several people telling me to retake and after 2 retakes, I'm waiting anxiously to hear back from Harvard and I feel like I have a really good shot at getting in. A lot's changed in 1000 posts.

I'm JUST above re-take threshold. But I'm betting on a weak applicant pool, and amazing softs.jingosaur wrote:Posting #1000 here to show how much a JS1 will mean to me.

Omg, what poor soul had a 3.83 and 178 and had to wait until the end of May to get rejected after going complete in early October? Most schools don't start releasing decisions until early December. If you still haven't heard back by Christmas, I would start worrying, but just sit tight for now.

Soooo, in an effort to take everyone's minds off the question of JS2s and JS1s (none of us are prophets and the nail-biting waiting and conjecture serve only to kick up our adrenaline levels in vain)...
Anyone watching Catching Fire this week or the next? Anyone watch it at all? It's got high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, but I've always been more of a Battle Royale person and cannot figure out whether I should jump on the Hunger Games bandwagon or not.
edit: As I am mostly a lurker in these forums, do let me know if it's improper of me to ask non-HLS questions. I just thought it'd be a nice break from the seemingly endless waves of stress.

I've gone through the entire thread, but skimmed very lightly, so I could have totally missed it. But has anyone interviewed with Lauren Gold? And willing to share their experience via PM?
Is there a way to just search the thread? I'm such a noob at this

i thought the first movie was actually better than the book (she writes her action scenes weird), but i didn't see it in theaters and i don't think i will see this one in theaters either. i have a problem with violence (even when it's just implied) and i know what went down in catching fire :/winenot wrote:Soooo, in an effort to take everyone's minds off the question of JS2s and JS1s (none of us are prophets and the nail-biting waiting and conjecture serve only to kick up our adrenaline levels in vain)...
