Wondering if anyone else is in my boat: applied early Oct. to most of the T-14 and got a JS1 in the first wave. I haven't yet been accepted to anywhere in the top 10, but for a time I let the fact that I got a JS1 lull me into a false sense of security about my chances at other schools. Now I'm starting to freak out because I've heard nothing from schools I feel I am a good fit for (HLS is a reach) and they've already released decisions.

Does anyone else feel a similar sense of foreboding re: the rest of your apps?

Yep, same here. I got in at Duke via PT but haven't heard anything from other schools yet.

Unless you apply ED to CCN, you will not expect a decision for YSCCN before December.

Any thoughts on the quality/quantity of this HLS applicant pool compared to past cycles? Looking at the spreadsheet, quality seems very high, but that could obvisouly be due to self-selection bias.

We're a self-selecting sample or a self-selecting sample. These threads have a lot of high numbers applicants every year.

I told myself that I will only post 2 acceptances on Facebook and there will be no pictures. If someone says "pics or it didn't happen" I will send them the most vulgar picture that I can think of at the time.

I'll probably post two acceptances as well, the first one and the one I plan on accepting (assuming they're different). This seems like a good balance between coming off as braggy and sharing good news.

Unrelated: I got a JS1 with both GPA and LSAT at or below the 25th percentiles. For those of you out there with less impressive numbers but strong softs, it seems like it's still possible to have a horse in this race.

Most schools don't start releasing decisions until early December. If you still haven't heard back by Christmas, I would start worrying, but just sit tight for now.

Anyone watching Catching Fire this week or the next? Anyone watch it at all? It's got high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, but I've always been more of a Battle Royale person and cannot figure out whether I should jump on the Hunger Games bandwagon or not.

i thought the first movie was actually better than the book (she writes her action scenes weird), but i didn't see it in theaters and i don't think i will see this one in theaters either. i have a problem with violence (even when it's just implied) and i know what went down in catching fire :/
