Hoping I can make it in the first RD wave -- no matter how unlikely that may be!
(only went complete last week and is irrationally holding out hope for the first wave as well)

Oh, it wasn't university. Oops, silly me...that explains it.lawschool22 wrote:That's interesting. For mine they specifically contacted me asking me to send it in before they made me complete. You're at "Complete" and not "Completion Pending," right? Was the C&F thing related to a university incident or just legal? If it wasn't university they wouldn't need a certification. Otherwise I'm not sure what would be going on.iamgeorgebush wrote:Wait, I had a C&F disclosure and didn't get a dean's letter sent in, but I'm still complete. Should I be worried about delays?lawschool22 wrote:the_pakalypse wrote:One thing to consider, did you have a C&F disclosure? If you haven't sent in a dean's letter you will need that. That can sometimes hold up completion.

This is really just institutional sadism at this pointNonconsecutive wrote:If its any (minor) consolation to those waiting to go complete, I know someone who applied to one of Columbia's Grad schools and has been incomplete for over 2.5 months, yet the office says everything is progressing fine with their app.
So at least its not some law-student thing, lol

Thank you! I knew I wouldn't get much, but is it completely impossible I'll get any?Balthy wrote:theoutpostmhs wrote:I was accepted ED and didn't get any scholarship offer. Does that mean I'm not getting any money?
EDs don't get money at most schools (including CLS), since it's binding and they don't need to incentivize you with $.
But congrats!
That's cruel!Balthy wrote:theoutpostmhs wrote:I was accepted ED and didn't get any scholarship offer. Does that mean I'm not getting any money?

Not really. They gave the ED person something of value already, an acceptance where there otherwise likely wouldn't have been one. Informed people are usually aware there will be little to no money, and accept this as a fair deal.xmbeckham wrote:That's cruel!Balthy wrote:theoutpostmhs wrote:I was accepted ED and didn't get any scholarship offer. Nope...and we are all waiting in agony.xmbeckham wrote:Submitted on 12/23 and went complete on 1/4. So the first wave of RD acceptances has not rolled out yet?
Nope. We're hoping/thinking it should start late next week or the week after.xmbeckham wrote:Submitted on 12/23 and went complete on 1/4. So the first wave of RD acceptances has not rolled out yet?
Makes sense. How about (institutional) loans? They can't borrow from the school either?lawschool22 wrote:Not really. Institutional loans are usually based on financial need, so I'm guessing that ED people are just as eligible as non-ED people.xmbeckham wrote:Makes sense. How about (institutional) loans? They can't borrow from the school either?

Submitted the same date and still at completion pending... Cause for concern? I guess I'll wait it out for a few more days before calling.xmbeckham wrote:Submitted on 12/23 and went complete on 1/4. So the first wave of RD acceptances has not rolled out yet?
Welcome to the next stage of waiting.Vexed wrote:Went completed today. Submitted on NYE.
It seems a few early December applicants only went complete last week or so. I wouldn't be too worried. Maybe call them if nothing turns up by the end of next week?kenwash wrote:Submitted the same date and still at completion pending... Cause for concern? Columbia hasn't awarded any aid to any of their new admits yet (we don't even have passwords for the admitted students site), so the fact that you haven't heard anything regarding aid doesn't mean anything. I also read a post from a CLS student who was admitted ED in a previous cycle who said he/she received the amount of aid anticipated based on his/her financial situation. However, I don't know exactly how much that person received, and I can't find the post right now; so I guess take it for what it's worth.lawschool22 wrote:Not really. Snail mail only unless internationalmalleus discentium wrote:Excuse the ignorance, but does Columbia send out acceptances via email or snail mail? I recall something about VCEs in the past so I wasn't sure.
In the past, ED by email, RD by mail. I don't know if we have official word that that's continuing this year, but it seems like the safe bet.malleus discentium wrote:Excuse the ignorance, but does Columbia send out acceptances via email or snail mail?
