Well that makes me feel a little better, but not knowing until August would be terrible if I lost down payments on tuition, scholarship and stuff. That would add up. Did they give you any scholarship information yet or are you still waiting? Sorry for the questions, Fordham is just my first choice but Brooklyn already accepted and gave me scholarship stuff.cogitoergosum wrote:No. Status checker was radio silence from waitlist in dec. until admission last week.kmatz311 wrote:When they added your LOCI's to your file was there any change to your status or dates?cogitoergosum wrote:I definitely saw this in my experience with Fordham. I was a pretty weird case (splitter, long story gpa). They were really accessible to me and heard me out on a number of things. My advice to people on the waitlist who really want Fordham is to be sure to let them know that. I wrote 2 or 3 LOCI's, one of which I hand delivered. When I had a transcript update, I printed an unofficial transcript and sent it along with a letter recapping my achievements during the semester and some more about how much I like Fordham, etc. Also, I had done a lot of research about Fordham over the past few years, so I tried to speak specifically about the things I liked.Happy Endings wrote:Essentially that...although a few have been pulled off the WL, a great deal of consideration goes into providing a thorough and complete evaluation of applicants to become part of the incoming class...which results in reviews of WLers into the spring and even summer.
Take it for what it's worth. I do think it's a careful, thoughtful process at Fordham.

I have not received a scholarship offer yet. Yeah, I know what you mean with other offers and all. I'm really thankful to have gotten off the waitlist so early.kmatz311 wrote: Well that makes me feel a little better, but not knowing until August would be terrible if I lost down payments on tuition, scholarship and stuff. Because after several years of doing XYZ work, requiring detailed analysis of applicable laws and regulations, involving close cooperation with various law firms, I decided I'd rather be the outside counsel.Gemini wrote:ARRGGHHH this damn brief. I was lucky enough to get 30k/yr. I'm most likely w/drawing which may open up some more money for others and get someone off the waitlist. good luck everyone.JenDarby wrote:I'm not saying it's impossible, just that judging from the website and the people I know its not very common. I imagine some of those 30k/yr people may have negotiated up from 25k, since it seems 5k is usually the schools give in negotiating situations.Gotti wrote:JD - i've seen quite a few people on LSN from our app year and previous years get $30k/year. obv it's not that common but i've definitely seen it happen more than few times

Congrats Magic, on your Fordham acceptance!! I understand financial circumstances...I hope all goes well with the decisions that lie ahead!! In my humble opinion, Fordham all the waymagicbunny wrote:That just sounds awesome! Fordham was not my first choice before but right now I really want to be part of it! Although given my financial situation I really need to consider a lot of things before attending. Anyway I'll certainly visit the campus and talk to the admission and financial aid people. Hope that miracle could happen to me too! Good luck with everyone who wishes to be c/o 2015!Happy Endings wrote:Spoke with admissions today about some questions I had (i.e.. curriculum changes, waitlist). I can't speak highly enough about the level of friendliness, candor and class exemplified by the office (over the phone). I have always held the school in high regard...as it is my first choice. However, never before has there been so much clarity then today. I am hoping for a miracle of opportunity to be a part of the Fordham community. As always, for those still waiting....hang in there and STAY POSITIVE because the program is worth it!!!

^same for me! Still just "complete" though. Should I be expecting it to say "under review" or do they just go straight to a decision?mcdeeremitch wrote:Finally updated to 2/23 after being stuck on 1/18

Have faith. Unlike a lot of law schools, Fordham has a very well rounded approach to reviewing applications, they look beyond your numbers. I had 143/3.8 and was waitlisted in dec, I thought I would have been rejected. But i'm keeping hope alive.mcdeeremitch wrote:I have auto reject numbers 154/3.2 aa urm...but I'm just happy to see some movement

I do think that it would tell them you are serious about Fordham, which can't hurt...john1990 wrote:I was wait listed and i am working on a LOCI right now. Do you guys think visiting the school would help my chances?
