Looking on LSN it seems Emory has a 3.0 GPA wall of death as well. This makes no sense as 166's 3.0-3.2s which dont boost median but drag down GPA are getting in with $$ yet 167s/168s with 2.9s are getting the shaft....

Why, as a dean for a top school, would you wait on trying to improve your class profile / rankings ? Doesn't seem very smart to me. Admitting a 167/below3 vs a 166/3.0 only does positive things - 25% gpa remains unchanged because both are below that #, while median LSAT goes up with the 167.

No shit. That is my point, they do not seem to be trying to bump up that median LSAT this year. It will stay at a 166. From the talks I have had with 1L students this year, they are giving less scholarship money out this year.

I got that email. Honestly, I like knowing that I will have my Emory decision in hand before any of my deposits are due. I wish I could say the same about other schools I applied to in October.
