BC is being very odd this cycle. Very unpredictable. Some people with great #'s are getting dinged that you would think would be admits. Someone on LSN has a 169 and 3.75 and got dinged.

That's really odd, because I keep remembering that ecstatic guy who had 3.4/161 and got in. Maybe they really do look beyond the numbers...which gives me hope.queenlizzie13 wrote:BC is being very odd this cycle. Very unpredictable. I checked my status checker and I just went under review 1/21. I hope I'm not going to be UR for the next three months now.

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
As for the mailing question, I got in without anything under mailings. I wouldn't look too much into it.
In reference to the question about merit scholarships: there's no consensus... at first they said January, but elsewhere they said March.
And yes, as someone observed, BC is not afraid to reject people with good stats and let people in with lower stats. I'm not sure why... I really do think they have a more holistic process. I got in with a 162, and I've been waitlisted from lower-ranked schools who are very strict with numbers.

Personal statements, letters of recs and a diverse background weighs just as heavily as your LSAT and GPA at BC; everyone needs to remember just because you score a 170 on the LSAT doesn't mean your an auto-admit, that shows nothing about how you write and present yourself.

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
Just got home to find a letter from BC letting me know that they are going to have my application in an unloving embrace until the end of February.
Will be withdrawing, good luck to the rest of you folks!

For those of you who got DR 1/18,
are we supposed to get the e-mail on Monday if accepted?
Also, if not accepted, do we still get the e-mail?
I am asking this I won't be able to get my snail mail for like another month since I live far far away from America.

Email them and tell them that your current address is abroad. I did this when I realized I wouldn't be near my permanent address during the application process.atkpl wrote: I am asking this I won't be able to get my snail mail for like another month since I live far far away from America.

Did you just ask them to tell you the decision?

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
I applied on January 9 (improved enough on the Dec. LSAT to make BC a possibility, albeit definitely a bit of a reach). Stats are 3.33/167, non-URM. Today the status checker went to "Application being reviewed"....is this is the same thing as going "complete"? And how long would the wait be now? (I assume I'll here back sometime in late Feb. to March)

"Application being reviewed" 1/24/2010. Finally! It had said "Application Received" since 12/09. I've been considering e-mailing them to make sure I had everything in. Here's hoping a decision won't take another 6 weeks!

My status changed to DR on 1/21 but still haven't heard anything yet. Normal?
