Anybody else get the Waitlist Update e-mail?

Furthermore, some applicants will remain on our waiting list and others will be denied. If we would like to keep you on our waiting list, your ASO status will be changed from "In Review" to "Waitlisted" on Friday, February 11th. Additionally, you will receive an email informing you of your updated decision as well as providing you with some additional information detailing how our waiiting list process may develop in the coming months

Basically, some of us will have the privilege of getting waitlisted by W&L twice in the same cycle.

So uh, people who had a "wait list" decision rendered after 1/20 basically are not getting in?


Also, I hope they make a finalized decision on me this time around.

The way I read it, if your WL status is dated after 1/20 - Your toast!

yes i just got the update. W & L are notorious for actually admitting people off the waitlist. however, im clearly not even remotely counting on it.

No, they were saying that after 1/20 they were much stricter with who they put on the wait list, meaning they don't have to pare that section of the list down any more.

At least if you are before 1/20 you will know on Friday if you are in/out/WL and can then plan accordingly...

speak to you all on friday. i was waitlisted before the 20th. big deal. this whole process is quite absurd. its like a dark comedy of sorts. good luck anyway. PS As per Michael Corleone, " Just when I think Im out, they pull me back in again"LOL

What is so bad about the process? I think this school has the best one. Everyone finds out a decision very quickly. They are actually going to admit some people off the waitlist already too. I wish every school was as open and informative about their process. I like how they update us constantly. Some of the schools I applied to did not even read files until January. It's oh so lovely when they tell you a decision has been rendered and you have to wait 1 more week to get in the mail. This defeats the whole purpose of a status checker.

The fact that they will make some admissions offers to pre 1/21 waitlist is promising, though.

I was wait-listed ON the 20th...now UR. At least they are talking to us...

Any thoughts as to whether they're re-reviewing earlier due to a dirth of lsats/gpas relative to what they expected? It seems odd that they would definitively say that those waitlisted would not hear back until mayish and then revisit those same applications so early. I'm just hoping that it's a good sign for splitters =).

For those who were accepted, according to status checker I was sent a mailing today described "Note from Associate Dean Evans," is this the scholarship information or a generic letter?

They don;t post anything related to scholarships on your status checker.

So what is this note from associate dean evans? do all accepted students receive this letter? what is the wait time with regards to the scholarship information? I know they say it will be mailed within ten days, but how long did ya'll have to wait before you actually received the package.
