You made up your mind on SMU, Fathergoose?

I'm still waiting to hear back from UT and about money at other schools, but SMU is on top of the heap right now. A little more $$ would make the decision easier. I've got family in Dallas and I really want to practice in Texas so it would make a lot of sense.

What about you?

Barring any unforseen act of nature/god, I'll be at SMU. I look forward to meeting y'all next Friday.

I tried to haggle some more money out of SMU. They replied with a very terse email saying they don't give any more money after the first offer and they hope I choose SMU. To which I say to SMU: then you'd better hope my other choices aren't more open to negotiation than you are.

Seriously though, SMU is still in my top 2. A little more money from them probably would have been a done deal for me.

Sounds like a plan. We can play good cop bad cop. There has to be more money floating around out there that they can give us.

I bet once we get a little later in the cycle they will be more inclined to open up the purse strings if they think we are actually going to matriculate

It didn't pan out that way last semester. I mean, certainly ask, but I don't think the chances are very great.

Good to know. So SMU puts their best offer on the table. Take it or leave it? I guess I can respect the straight forwardness. Hopefully there is a little wiggle room.

Very similar timeline for me too. Was getting obsessive about it so I ignored work for a while to read through last year's thread for signs of a pattern. 30 minutes before the call I figured out that "Completed (Initial Date)" changes to "Completed (Yesterday's Date)" changes to "Decision Rendered (the following day)" becomes phone call.

Great feeling. In: evening division w/$.

Congrats to everybody else who got the call. As the result of the call yesterday afternoon, I now have a hangover to deal with. Life is good today...

I got a letter from SMU yesterday...

.....it had my login info in it. Don't get me wrong - I'm happy to be accepted, just got a little excited since scholly letters were sent recent...or A scholly letter was sent.

Yea - I'll have to re-read when I get home. As soon as I realized it wasn't what I was hoping for, I just skimmed it. Something about how to get online, ask questions, I think maybe an email address? I'll look when I get home tonight. Sorry about that!

I've been completed since 2/16 - I think because we didn't get letters of phone calls, its not good. I may be wrong but on SMU's first round of acceptances, the people that were notified first got in and those that followed didn't have the same luck as the former.

Just Speculation Though.
