Kids, don't forget to finish your video interviews.
ME TOO, got the rejection email just now. Invited to video-interview in December, but forgot to do it because I was traveling. Oops
+1
Had a week from hell and just spaced on the interview. Now just waiting for my rejection. Cornell was not a top choice for me, but I'm still annoyed at myself.

I submitted the exact same day as you, and have also been UR since 12/12. Solidarity.
Spoke too soon. Just got placed on reserve.

Looks like Cornell could be pulling people from the reserve list in mid-feb! Good news for some of us

Got the reserve interest/interview feeler just now; replied back with the one free day I'll have in D.C. in 2 weeks so hopefully they can fit me in.

So got reserved 2 weeks ago. Got the invitation to interview and write the why Cornell. Problem is I am active duty army and live on one of the most isolated bases on the west coast. I can't just willy nilly get up and fly out to D.C. I didn't even expect to get waitlisted (161 3.68). I just wonder if they're mass waitlisting people. Of course i'll go to cornell if accepted. But i'm not sure I can swing this.

Maybe Cornell's strategy is to WL more people this cycle to gauge interest better?

Dinged this afternoon. I definitely expected this to happen this cycle with my @Median GPA and 25th-50th LSAT. One thing I've noticed is that I'm sticking to my numbers as far as where I get in, but am outperforming them for scholarship amounts. I've been receiving about 10-15k more than the average for my numbers for the schools where I have been accepted. I wonder if that's a general trend of this cycle?

Noticed this too. At this point, I honestly feel like if your application was placed in reserve, you basically just don't have a decision yet. If you could hear back between a couple of weeks from now until this spring, is it really a waitlist yet?
Honestly, this all seems a bit sloppy to me. I received the initial reserve email about getting a decision in May. Then email #1 today about interviewing, which was utterly confusing. Then email #2 today which seemed to suggest YP on Cornell's part. I really wish that schools could just be a bit more transparent. But I realize it doesn't really serve their interests.
I'm at LSAT 50th and above 75th GPA and was placed on reserve. Also got the email today inviting me to interview in person (already did one online), and suggesting that I should send a Why Cornell essay. Said they'd take some people off waitlist in February. I can't go to DC or NY for an interview right now and live nowhere nearby. Also not sure on how to write a why x essay as I didn't do one for any schools already and got into 4 t14 schools anyways. I'm take the LSAT in 2 weeks and writing a high quality essay for Cornell is at the bottom of my list of things to do. I'm kind of annoyed by this whole thing. It seems like they should have accepted me, and they didn't, and now they are having second thoughts
It seems to me that Cornell is employing a strategy where they WL a much higher % of people than usual in order to gauge interest. Tbh, Why X essays don't take THAT much time. If you're seriously considering attending Cornell, I'd certainly write one

Anyone who interviewed still have "interview requested" on their status checker? The date updated to when I did the video interview (1/12) but it still just says interview requested, I'm worried I did something wrong?

The main reason I didn't write a Why Cornell was because they basically ask you that question directly in the app. Granted, they don't give you a whole lot of space to elaborate, but to me it seemed redundant to supplement that with an extra essay.

It stays like that until you get a response. I did mine 1/10 and it stayed at interview requested until yesterday when it changed to under review for a few hours until I got the phone call

I found out within ten days. But I'm not sure about whether or not it's required for acceptance

I like that Cornell is communicating with us and giving us options to interview and send more material. It's all fair.
Should the Why Cornell essay be one page?
Good luck to all!

Anybody know why my app is still "ready for review" as of 12/22...?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
