Do you know how many acceptance offers were made in January? I know they had a little over 1200 offers last year, curious how many of those came in January.brinicolec wrote:SilverSurfer2020 wrote:Anyone know how far the waves were spread out last year? Posted this earlier but I think it got lost in the admitted posts:
Looking at last year's LSN info:
They had their first wave (admits only) 1/19, then another 1/21 and some people the 22nd and 23rd too (including one WL). Next wave came 1/26 (admits only), and seems to have just continued for a couple days. Then there was the first wave of WLers 2/5. First straight up rejection was 2/10.
All that's to say, for anyone worried about not being in this wave, if CLS is sticking to their past schedule (which it seems like there are) there will be QUITE a few more waves of acceptances before the month is over.
Edit: aka we can worry together in February because I'm pretty sure I'm getting a WL at best, ding at worst lol.

Per LSN, about half their acceptances over the last 2 years were in January.CR7 wrote:Do you know how many acceptance offers were made in January? Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
They make a good deal of offers in January and early February, as well as WLs and dings; the way I see it, they try to knock out Sept-Dec people to then begin focusing on Jan-April people from feb-april.
As bri points out, there should be a wave soon, likely tomorrow or/and Friday and Monday/Tuesday. No one should be worried simply because they didn't hear today!

Hey guys! So quick question about merit scholarships: I applied 12/1 and got accepted today at around 6 pm. I never interviewed though- does this likely mean that I will not receive a scholly?

No special note and no interview, but I did get in! Still going to count that as a victory.

I really don't think the interview indicates anything, and it's not like Duke where you have to interview for fin aid consideration. In other words, don't worry about it.dinan15 wrote:Hey guys! Safe to assume the wave is over? I went complete 11/30 and didn't get anything. Currently crying. Probably fucked up the interview. Anxiety is so real

People, people: How many times do I have to say there's gonna be a wave like every other day (this is an exaggeration, but still) until the end of the month until you stop sad facing and freaking out!? As OP, I feel like it is my duty to try to keep you guys calm during this anxiety-ridden time, lol.mmestik wrote:My numbers are at/above both 75th with a good interview, nothing here either :'(lsa16 wrote:I went complete 10/11 with numbers at least at both medians and thought my interview went well so if you are crying I should definitely be cryingVapidP wrote:Congrats to everyone who got in! Oh sorry, to be clear, not actually crying. That was definitely a poor attempt at an exaggeration/joke. More along the lines of I feel like my soul is dying on the inside because no JS1 today and no Columbia acceptance.hellohalo wrote:Maybe they are weighing on how much money to give you guys. Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Based on my prowling of last year's thread, butler's and Hammy's don't get an email, at least during the beginning waves, and will only find out acceptance AND scholarship in their letter via snail mail. So those of you who had great numbers and haven't heard yet, that might actually be a good sign! Makes my acceptance a little bittersweet, but then again as far as I can tell NO ONE has received a butler/hammy with numbers as low as mine (not saying my #s are terrible, just not scholly material of that level at CLS). Hoping I can crush the Feb LSAT though and convince them to reconsider
