Please don't be angry because I am sure this has been asked and answered but what does it mean to be sent to faculty review?

Waitlisted as well. Does anyone know the chances of getting any $ off the Berkeley WL?

Psyched to be a part of FR2! It might be irrational but I am.
My friend got in off FR last year with slightly worse numbers and a similar w/e background.

WL'd from FR... LSAT = 50, 50>GPA>75
Didn't write anything Berkeley specific and feeling like I should have now
Will be riding this out, Boalt is one of if not my top choice rn, I appreciate ya'll who've said you're withrawing from the WL who don't intend to matriculate

Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Faculty review means your application is not good enough to be admitted straight by Dean Tom, but you are a relatively strong candidate and the admission committee (comprised of admissions team, students, and faculty) will take a look at your application again. The tls consensus is there is about 13% chance to get it once you make it to the faculty review. That is nominally better than 9% from the general pool, but it is really hard to say whether the competition in FR pool is higher or lower in the end (both the best and the worst applicants are screened out, so it all depends on the initial ratio, which is a big unknown).Bouvant wrote:Please don't be angry because I am sure this has been asked and answered but what does it mean to be sent to faculty review?

I just received an email that I have been moved to FR, with a date on or around 2/26cc1012 wrote:I submitted in early October and went UR in mid-October. Also rejected
Don't take it too harsh!! You will have (and have already had) great outcomes.
GPA << 25th
173 LSAT
I haven't heard anything (but I'm not holding out much hope), when did you guys submit?

Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
So having thought about it for a bit...I am still puzzled.
I went from FR1 -> FR2.
I obviously wasn't that good to admitted. But I wasn't that bad to be dinged outright. Why didn't I get put on a waitlist? Don't get me wrong, I am grateful that I still have a chance of being admitted without being placed on the waitlist first.
Someone here said my chance is still the same as FR1. I highly doubt it. I think that person was assuming two independent events, but being pushed from FR1 to FR2 is obviously not independent. Anyone has more insights into this?

I'm on the same boat. I was accepted over a week ago but heard nothing about BLOS. I was under the impression that the interviews were sent out in waves though. Is it confirmed that there will be no other interviews for BLOS?skimmilk wrote:Thank you! This comes as a relief, but also a slap in the face since Berkeley has always been my top choice, but I cannot reasonably justify moving across country without the BLOS (like I stated this flat out in my application). Since BLOS interview invites went out awhile back I am assuming there is no hope for me?![]()
Also sorry to everyone who received bad news today, I hope you all fare better with your other applications or are accepted off of the waitlist!

"I write to inform you that your application to Berkeley Law has passed an initial administrative review and has been selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee. The Committee will begin deliberation on your application on February 5."
Uhh very confusing email. Am I in a reserve group?

I have no idea, this is all speculation. I wasn't sure how interview request were sent out, but if it is in waves then we all still stand a chance and that would be great!jchavez23 wrote:I'm on the same boat. That is sort of ridiculous. From a school's perspective, what can change between now and 3 weeks from now? Will they see that many different applicants that you'll be in a substantially different light? Do they need more eyes to see it?clarf wrote:FR2. Tbh, this is starting to get old.
FWIW, I'd rather be in FR2 than on the WL, but still... I sympathize.

Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Just pure speculation, but I'm assuming that if you went FR 1 --> FR 2, then you were probably literally on the fringes of getting accepted, or else they would just waitlist you. So they probably just want to see the rest of the applicants and see if after seeing all of those how you hold up. From this logic, I would assume that you would have a better chance than the avg FR 2 applicant....but again, pure speculation.James.K.Polk wrote:That is sort of ridiculous. Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I know I've seen a few people mention that they went to Berkeley for undergrad on here. Would anyone be able to make some recommendations for housing? I live in the South sooooo my rent is currently under $600 with utilities. As you can imagine looking at the cost of living in Cali is currently killing me. Any help would be appreciated!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
