Ehhh, unlikely that they'll turn it around in two weeks. I imagine that the further we get into the cycle and the more apps they get, the more decisions will start to slow down.slizerd wrote:My app has said completed since a few days after I submitted on the 17th. Don't stop checking that mail, though

In!
Applied 11/9, Complete 11/10, ED, Huge reverse splitter and didn't get asked for an interview (which I assumed was the kiss of death for my app)
Hope this helps! (especially for all you like me who messed up on the lsats)

The letter must have come in the mail while I was out of town for the holiday. It was postmarked 11/23. I didn't interview, FWIW.

My shitty apartment complex always delivers mail at least 3 days after they get it. I'm so afraid of LS letters getting lost by them

Does anyone know what the difference is between the group interviews and the alumni interview? I am a pretty severe splitter (above 75% lsat below 25% gpa) with medical addenda for my GPA and pretty strong softs. Does an alumni interview request imply good news?

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I really think it's based on geographic availability. If you're in an area where they can set you up with an alum, then they will do that. If there's no alum, then maybe a group interview if it's in the area. At least that's my theory. I thought it may also be if you're borderline, but there are a lot of candidates that are in or above gtown's medians that are interviewed as well, so I don't know if that's true in every case.cecrum wrote:Does anyone know what the difference is between the group interviews and the alumni interview? I spent a lot of time going through what we have on the spreadsheets for the past few years to see if there is a correlation between interviews and decisions. There are a bunch of people who were interviewed and got waitlisted or dinged, at least those that are reporting their decisions. It's different from WashU where an interview usually leads to an acceptance. But it also seems like it's always better to do the interview than not.

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It seems that the thread's consensus regarding interviews (both alum and group) is that they mostly imply that there was an option for them to request one, logistically (based on location/availability of alum etc), and not much more than that.cecrum wrote:Does anyone know what the difference is between the group interviews and the alumni interview? That being said - I think your LSAT score implies good news, regardless. I have similar numbers, without medical considerations, and got my acceptance letter postmarked about 10 days after I went complete. No interview request, but I'm living overseas...
Good luck!

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Hoping somebody can calm my anxieties --
I submitted 11/14 and went complete 11/16, I'm right at 75% LSAT and 25% GPA. I know GULC tends to send interview requests to borderline candidates or to those for whom an interview would be geographically convenient. I think I fall in the former category but haven't received an interview request, and the spreadsheet says people who get requests do so in about ~2 weeks. Obviously GULC does admit applicants w/o an interview, but my brain is not wired for that kind of optimism and I'm beginning to think the adcomm is just not interested
So, for those of y'all from a southern state and/or similarly removed from the mid-atlantic: have you received an interview request? And, if you did, how do your stats compare to GULC medians?
I know this is a pretty specific inquiry; please feel free to shoot me a PM if it makes you more comfortable (also so I don't clog the board with posts that aren't useful to the greater TLS pool).

I'm in pretty much the same boat as you are and I got my interview request the 20th. I live just outside of Atlanta, so thats a pretty big hub I think. If you dont live close to a major city and dont get an interview request I wouldnt worry about it.

So if I submitted 11/8 and still haven't heard back, is it safe to say I got the ding? URM (M.A.), 25% LSAT and 75% GPA.

Fair enough. I'm just slightly concerned because I know they mailed a bunch out on the 23rd. No matter, I guess I'll start panicking next week.cecrum wrote:I wouldnt panic. i went compete 11/2 and didnt hear anything until 11/20 and you have a ton of holidays in there as welllolRCscrewyou wrote:So if I submitted 11/8 and still haven't heard back, is it safe to say I got the ding? Is it too soon to panic? I'm getting a little nervous.
3.47gpa/167lsat Mexican American
App completed late October
Interview was on 11/10 and I thought it went really well. Alumni responded to my follow up email saying I could contact him anytime and that he really enjoyed talking with me.
Any thoughts? If I should move this to the compendium I will. If it helps, in at Wash U and UCLA.
