Nope. Getting sort of annoyed - I applied beginning of October (strong numbers and a Why Michigan) to 10 schools, all T14; I've heard from 7 of them and haven't been rejected anywhere yet, so it's really strange to me that Michigan is still pending. Would love to just get an answer already.

I chose my Diversity Statement, LSAT Addendum, and sacrificed the Why Michigan essay. Do you guys think I should or can email the Why Michigan essay to them before my application is complete? I submitted it a week ago and it is currently processing. Thanks!
I was literally in the same situation when I applied. When I called the admissions office, she told me that they don't consider an "addendum" to take up one of your "essay" slots. So you can use your two essay slots on the DS/Why Mich and then send an addendum separately and have all three of them considered by the adcoms.

Since you initially left out the Why essay instead of the addendum, you might want to call the admissions office and ask them exactly how they want to receive it. I'm 99% sure it'll be fine.
Just called them. Thanks!

I just got a really weird email from Michigan thanking me for my patience and apologizing for not giving me a decision already (I applied in September I think). Did anyone else receive on like this? I don't know what to make of it.

Did anyone else get that email explaining why some people haven't gotten decisions yet? Oh my god I was so terrified reading through it because I thought it was building up to a waitlist bombshell at the end (it didn't, thankfully).

Edit: Oh thank god

I just got the same email. I'm not really sure how to feel either. Did they send this to everyone who applied early and hasn't received a decision?

You should click the "read this" link if the email wasn't clear enough.

I've found inducing panic to be far more satisfying than playing the voice of reason.

I got the message too. Disappointed there's something about my application that gives them pause, as I'd be happy at Michigan.

I got that too. Very strange, and I really don't have anything else to submit... I've been out of school several years, submitted 4 LORs and a Why Michigan - not sure what I'd add.

I got it also. I assume in my case since I am a splitter that its almost like a hold where they want to evaluate the applicant pool first before they respond.

For those of us that didn't get the email, what does the link say that is extra enlightening?

It's just a link to an old blog post from Dean Z explaining that the email doesn't mean waitlisted or hold or anything, just that they haven't decided anything yet and they're taking to time to make sure they get it right.

What BLE said. Also, that it's just something that is suppose to make the admissions process more open to the applicants.
