You pulled the ultimate "why" card. I'd still submit one, you obviously have substantial reasons for choosing Michigan so it shouldn't be hard to write a page on it.rtbrah wrote:I applied ED and got shifted into the RD pool, and havent heard anything since. Re: Michigan Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Michigan has an awesome holistic decision process and apparently this type of essay can help. I've heard of people submitting after getting WL but I don't know if people generally do it otherwise. It wouldn't hurt to look at Michigan's policy of accepting additional materials after submitting apps- it would be bad if your extra essay bumped you to the back of the rolling admissions line :/
Also by choosing ED I think you already demonstrated your strong interest in attending the school.
Good luck, it's a fantastic school!

as much as I LOVE Michigan, it is quite questionable to say Michigan has an awesome holistic decision process. I mean for sure they admit some strong applicants who do not have great numbers, but in general, numbers still play a major role in the admission process. Anyways, Michigan is a fantastic school.Mack.Hambleton wrote:questionablegeorgetownhopeful893 wrote:Michigan has an awesome holistic decision process

I got rejected this year after they accepted me last year with a worse LSAT, less work experience, and MUCH less volunteer experience. I think the whole "holistic" thing is just YP in disguise.taptaptop wrote:as much as I LOVE Michigan, it is quite questionable to say Michigan has an awesome holistic decision process. I got the recruitment packet with the viewbook and the handsigned note from Dean Z today, and now I'm even sadder I didn't write a Why Mich. Congratulations, Michigan's advertising team, you have achieved what you've intended! Now let me come to your school.

Yeah, the "personalized note" from the Dean is such a good touch by their recruitment team. Michigan is slowly moving up on my list.

In via status check yesterday. Was completely random, hadn't checked status in a few weeks and just happened to check on the date that the decision was made. GPA is ~50% and LSAT > 75%. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

Congrats! But actually the date on status checker still automatically changes everyday even if you are already admitted. So you might got in days ago, but that doesn't matter!hypebeast wrote:In via status check yesterday. oh haha, I have no idea when I was admitted then, couldn't have been too long ago as I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Speaking of which how long does it usually take to receive the admissions packet once the status updates?taptaptop wrote:Congrats! They will usually send you a follow-up email about financial aid information about a week after you got admitted, so you can kind of estimate the date you got in. As for the package, it seems that most people got them about a week after. I am not currently in the US so that took me over a month....hypebeast wrote:oh haha, I have no idea when I was admitted then, couldn't have been too long ago as I haven't received anything in the mail yet. IIRC in the package, there's a letter which is dated (presumably the date you received acceptance).taptaptop wrote:They will usually send you a follow-up email about financial aid information about a week after you got admitted, so you can kind of estimate the date you got in. I'm in the same boat. I applied the first week of September ED and have heard nothing since getting deferred. I'd even like a "hey we're still reading your file" email at this point.rtbrah wrote:I applied ED and got shifted into the RD pool, and havent heard anything since. I just hope Feb. 1st comes faster because my email box is spammed by mails from Case Western Reserve, William Mitchell, Stetson, Regent asking me to apply.. and I am too lazy to unsubscribe CRS from LSAC. Feb. 1st is their ddl, so please, STOP.

Has anyone had a Darrow interview they'd like to share? I think there's been one so far ITT, but I imagine many more than that have been conducted.
