There are currently 19 on the site for 12/10-12/11. It seems like they've either been pulling them internally or they've sent out a few JS1s today -- there were 21 when I checked this morning, and 23 last night, per HorseThief.lawschoolplease1 wrote:are there new open interview slots?

There's quite a few open on the 12/10 and 12/11!! Could definitely be some new JS1s today.lawschoolplease1 wrote:are there new open interview slots?

Still just the slots on the 10th and 11th.lawschoolplease1 wrote:are there new open interview slots?

that might just be people from the last wave who couldn't get a 12/2-12/5 spot, just a guessLetsGoMets wrote:There are currently 19 on the site for 12/10-12/11. As the thread's resident 1L, can't you just take Josh Mauro out for a beer and make him spill the beans? That definitely wouldn't cost him his job or anything.HorseThief wrote:Sometimes they have ~46, but other weeks have had fewer. Who knows what the pattern is. The AdCom office is an enigma.

The interview thread is extremely helpful: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=200887.Cradle6 wrote:I'm sorry guys, I just found this thread.
So I have my JS1 and I'm scheduled for next week: is there a thread/page on this thread that helps with the JS1.
I'm extremely nervous.
Easier said than done, I know - but don't be too nervous. My interviewer was really nice and it sounds like all of the interviewers do their best to be conversational. The interview thread posted above is good and if you look a few pages back, there are some more tips.Cradle6 wrote:I'm sorry guys, I just found this thread.

While this is true, there are also examples of people like me with numbers above medians that got passed over for JS1s (at least in order they were given out). Therefore I am just trying not to speculate on what their system/circumstances are this year.w0w wrote:I think it's actually the opposite for a couple reasons. If the applicant pool was smaller and or less competitive then they would want to lock in those stronger candidates with acceptances right away and I think we would have seen JS1s last week. If the applicant pool is stronger they might want to wait before giving out JS2s to see what the rest of the pool looks like so they don't give a JS2 to someone who accepts and then later are unable to offer one to a stronger candidate this affecting their medians.
Also in the past few years there have been people with my numbers who got a turkey day surprise and I have not been given a JS1. I know this doesn't really point to much bc I could for whatever reason be an outlier in some way but it does seem like in the past people were admitted with lower numbers around thanksgiving than the vast majority of those that have gotten JS1s so far this year. It just seems like the numbers for those with JS1s so far are higher than in past years at this point.
See, I would just say this also points to the idea that their pool maybe stronger this year.Auxilio wrote:While this is true, there are also examples of people like me with numbers above medians that got passed over for JS1s (at least in order they were given out). Actual #s are still down.
Still, the admissions office didn't send out JS1s until after Sep./Oct. LSAT scores were released this year. I pointed that out on this thread when everyone was waiting for the first JS1s, and I believe that somebody mentioned that they don't normally wait for Sep. LSAT scores to be released to send out JS1s. That points to the strength of the pool being down this year in my opinion, as I think it is... no offense to anyone who applied of course!w0w wrote:I think it's actually the opposite for a couple reasons. Personally I HOPE this is the case but also the year before last JS1s came out about a week after this year I believe.matlan72 wrote:Still, the admissions office didn't send out JS1s until after Sep./Oct. They've done it for a long time, I have no idea about "always" but for a very good chunk of time they've done it. They are actually trying to be more transparent about that fact this year.mpc347 wrote:This post seems to have flown under the radar here: http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/admissions ... s-process/
Did they always do Faculty Review? Perhaps they added it this year and that accounts for the longer decision timeframe.

At this point, let me express my condolences. I got in on the Monday before Thanksgiving, and it was a pretty big weight off my shoulders knowing that my application cycle was going to be fine no matter what else happened. It has to be a little more stressful not having that yet.
I'll check back in next week. Someone get in by then, okay?
