I will say that the building ls incredible though. I visited Vanderbilt a month ago, and I would rank Emory's even higher. Especially the library study space, the courtyard, and the area around the lockers with the couches.
Bold statement (literally) because when I visited Vandy I thought their facilities were awesome
Well, don't get me wrong. Vanderbilt's are exceptional as well. In particular, their classrooms were better than Emory's.
But I preferred Emory's library and student lounge areas slightly. The courtyards are nearly identical, although Emory's is a bit bigger I think.

Wish I could have gone because it sounds amazing but I had a commitment in my current city I could not get out of so I visited about a month ago. I felt the same way after I visited though--I also sent in my deposit as soon as I got back!

Withdrawn. Good luck to everyone here in the remaining time for your cycle.
Hopefully my money and seat go to one of you who really has sights set on Emory!

ASW was awesome. In my smaller group (we met with professors in smaller groups) there was even the winner from the Amazing Race season 4! couldn't believe it. Also, I was pretty stunned at how attractive most of the prospective students were, as incredibly vain as that is to say.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be depositing. Despite the fact that the administration sold the school as having a "national reputation," I still feel like I would get stuck in ATL/the south if I went there (LST seems to support this), and I have no desire to live there long term past law school.
Sad because during my last cycle, emory was my top choice and I would've killed to get in off the waitlist. Hope the 25k/yr scholarship they gave me goes to you all!

FYI if you have the grades and ties, you can have great job prospects outside of Atlanta. At least 10 of my friends (some of whom are even from Atlanta) got 2L SAs in NY or DC. Not all of them were even ranked. It's true, this is not available to all students but half the class has to be the bottom 50% right?

That's just because most people at Yale go into academia/clerkships/etc. Self selection.

dats da point. this data would be much more meaningful if it measured ability to get a jerb (through callbacks or offers or something?), not just biglaw jerb placement. as it stands now this graph is useless unless you need confirmation that a) the T14 are superior b) USC/Vandy/UCLA are better and c) your chances of getting biglaw from anywhere else are not very good

Tbf the people that care enough about this data are typically smart enough to realize that HYS is the exception here. No need to make a whole new system for 3 outliers

Sooo..I sent in a letter about updates to my file before the waitlist came out.
Is it too much to send them another letter? As my official LOC. I don't want to bombard them.
