Why, how selfish of me.
Congratulations, recent admits.
Dixonkjo, what are your numbers?
If they can email a ding at the crack o' dawn, surely they can call out admits around midnight, right?TEXAS91 wrote:+1 How late do they call? I did, but I'm not a recent admit (admitted in December). I received an ASW invite and travel "scholarship" offer from UT about two weeks ago.timeandspace11 wrote:Anyone got the ASW invite yet?
This pretty much sums up how I feelndel21 wrote:UT call me maybe?

Have fun! It's such a great city.timeandspace11 wrote:Just bought my ticket to go to Austin for ASW. Definitely excited to visit and see the city for the first time!!
I'm hoping there will be some movement today since there seemed to be none yesterday.ndel21 wrote:UT call me maybe?

That depends who you ask! My boyfriend lived there for several years and we avoided one end of that street (I think east?) like the plague, though there were some cool bars on the west side. I guess it depends what scene you like. Definitely check out a movie and grab a meal at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (believe me - I know it might seem weird to go see a movie if you're in town for just a weekend but it was our favorite thing in Austin!). If it's nice out, check out Barton Springs or Deep Eddy (natural swimming areas). Even if it's not nice enough to swim, it's worth going to see Barton Springs! Eat tacos (preferably breakfast) at Torchy's.timeandspace11 wrote:Any must see places you would recommend? I know 6th Street has a great reputation.

Ehh....Torchy's is a little bit over-rated. It's not a must-eat, but it is good. Papalote, Tacodeli, any random stand on the side of the road...if you aren't from the Southwest these will all be the best tacos you've ever had.JXander wrote:YES.risa wrote:Eat tacos (preferably breakfast) at Torchy's.timeandspace11 wrote:Any must see places you would recommend? But if you do stop there for lunch, I recommend ordering "The Independent." It's my fave.

School sanctioned or not, I will be drinking that weekend. Ya'll are welcome to join me.timeandspace11 wrote:Damn sounds like Austin has got some great food. I was looking online and saw there are some great drink specials as well. If I didnt have work and class I would try to go even earlier and catch a few days of SXSW.
