IN with 35,000 a year!! Got the email to call this morning, and when I called he told me I was in and said he enjoyed my Why UVA, then told me about the money.

So, if you got the WL but have strong #s and are truly interested in UVA, shoot them a thoughtful LOCI and await the good news that will surely follow a week or two later.
Thank you for the tip! I will send them a LOCI in one or two weeks.

I have slightly below UVA's LSAT median and slightly above their GPA median. I submitted RD, with no Why UVA letter. How important is the Why UVA letter? What are my chances? Also, how friendly has UVA generally been towards (not that extreme) reverse splitters?

Submitting with big splitter numbers. Here's to hoping!

Hey everybody, I have a request.

If anyone here has used mylsn.info (LinkRemoved) and it has proven to tremendously aid you in the law school admissions process, please consider voting for LSATSCORES2012 in this poll. He is the creator of this tool and because of the degree to which it has aided me in my application process, I feel he should without a doubt be the winner of the tittle, "Most helpful poster" for 2012. If you agree with me, please vote for him too.

Thanks!

166/3.92 with no "Why UVA?" ... I got in with $45,000 in on of the first few rounds of admits.
Are you a resident? Also I'm assuming it's 45k in total? Not per year?

I didn't submit a "Why UVA" and was admitted with $20K merit aid per year. 3.8 / 169 highest LSAT. I started to really worry about the lack of "Why X" essays in my applications since I read that Penn, Mich and UVA are especially big on those... but I have gotten into UVA and Mich so far without them so it seems my paranoia was unfounded.

Submitted today. I know it's super late, but I had to wait for that December LSAT, and wasn't sure if I should bother anyway with a 170/3.56...but you know, YOLO or something.

Edit: Added GPA because saying I shouldn't bother with a 170 and no context probably made me sound like a bitch.

GPA is fine. ED or RD?

RD. I was too freaked by the prospect of sticker price, even at a good school, to ED anywhere.

ED, I think you're in no problem. RD, it's more of a toss up. Good luck!

I'm going to, but I need to get other offers back first. Jason made me really comfortable with the idea of negotiating with them. He pretty much told me to. I was planning on emailing him. I think it would be easier to see all he figures and schools in black and white.

 Why would they call someone to tell him/her he/she is waitlisted? Way to get someone's hopes up!

Agh, I'm at both 75ths for UVA, wrote a why UVA and had a UVA specific LOR, and went complete 10/16 and haven't heard a peep. I'm starting to get paranoid that I mixed up my Why Duke and Why UVA or something. :?

Same, though I'm not as why-UVA as you are. Haven't heard anything. ;(

Go check your app. I've done that numerous times in moments of sheer panic for my pending schools. Just reading over what I submitted for my peace of mind.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
