Just got the interview invitation email. Is this a good sign or does everyone get offered an interview?

It's a sign that they have some interest in you, everyone does not get an interview.neuroticjew wrote:Just got the interview invitation email. Is this a good sign or does everyone get offered an interview?

Me too!! I'm taking it as a good sign, my numbers have me very surprised they're even putting in the effort to interview me.neuroticjew wrote:Just got the interview invitation email. Is this a good sign or does everyone get offered an interview?

You're an URM with a 168, you shouldn't be surprised unless you have a shitty GPA (sub 3.0)franklyscarlet wrote:Me too!! I was one of the 11/21 folks and did not get a change. I find this encouraging...it suggests that the 11/21 change was not just another update. hopefully letters will arrive today or tomorrow.lawschoolhopeful!!! wrote:It just changed this morning, I kind of figured it would since this was the 3 week mark, I guess I will hear a decision soon. No change for me, either. Only EDers have reported a change today (so far), right?jeharri4 wrote:

Minority but not URM- Hispanic. Does it say URM in my profile? I need to change that.sasuke wrote:You're an URM with a 168, you shouldn't be surprised unless you have a shitty GPA (sub 3.0)franklyscarlet wrote:Me too!! I am also one of the 11/21 folks (we really need a better moniker, don't you guys think?). no change here either. I'm on the west coast so by the time I even check my mail today it will be like 930 EST. Not that I am expecting to get it the same day as east coast people. I am counting on you all for updates. Something tells me you will not disappointjeharri4 wrote:I was one of the 11/21 folks and did not get a change. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
For everyone freaking out that submitted 3 weeks ago because they haven't heard anything yet, I would offer that it is still too early to assume you are rejected. I was in your shoes last week, submitted 10/28, complete 10/31, with no movement on the checker since 10/31. NONE. I just got a request for an interview at 0900 MT via email. Granted, this doesn't mean that I am NOT going to get dinged, but that (I would assume) I haven't been yet. I sat and watched everyone with a 2 week turnaround from submit to accept. It really just seems that they are working through those with better numbers first, since mine have me at pretty much an auto ding.
So, don't lose hope just yet. I may not end up being a good news story, but at least a sign that there isn't a strict order or rules for interpretation for this. Not that that should be a surprise.

Obviously I won't need it for a few weeks, but does anyone have interview advice?

Mine was even less stressful than Northwestern's. She really spent most of it talking up the school. It was a fun interview and a good conversation, but completely informal. Mine was a phone interview, though. I just remembered not everyone's is, haha.

Oh really, that's encouraging to hear. Are you an ED applicant (I am)?EMZE wrote:For everyone freaking out that submitted 3 weeks ago because they haven't heard anything yet, I would offer that it is still too early to assume you are rejected. i was one of the 11/21ers as well, but i got the interview e-mail this morning. sub-170 #s, decent gpa, and putting a lot of hopes in a good interview. my northwestern one really threw me for a loop as my interviewer just went off a huge list of Qs and didn't seem to want to make a personal connection at all. all she did was just write my answers down and move on to the next question. really hoping it's not going to be like that.
any tips/suggestions for the interview from those who already finished them? it would be really appreciated.

I don't think they were really stats. Most of the interview people just admitted they were kinda borderline, I think.scottybared wrote:Link? It was 40% accepted/40% "priority waitlist"/20% regular waitlist/ding. They came from an older Georgetown thread here, so who knows how accurate they are.scottybared wrote:Link? ugh don't remind me! I'm on the west coast though so I figure if no one on TLS gets good news today I won't either. Yay for pessimism!Killingly wrote:3 hours until the mail arrivesTheRedMamba wrote:still at application completed 11/21, no interview e-mail

Another 11/21 west coaster here... good luck... I am thinking the same thing as you. But on the bright side we don't need to exert any energy running to our mailboxes. If anything happens, we will find out first on TLSTheRedMamba wrote:ugh don't remind me! I'm on the west coast though so I figure if no one on TLS gets good news today I won't either.
